Sounds like you've had your wake-up call and while passing out alone isn't usually a big deal, the point Jen makes about your potassium imbalance cannot be overstated - it can be fatal, and quickly.
It's common sense, I know, but don't lose sight of the fact that everyone's physiology is different. What works so wonderfully well for Sally and Lucy might be fatal for Peppermint Patty. Not everyone's body is cut out for this sport and no one's quality of life is worth a plastic trophy...at least not to anyone who's ever looked back over their life and been forced to ask themselves that question.
Remember, the journey needs to be enjoyable, too, not just the goal. Good luck to you.

HELL yeah. What he said and then some. Your health and long-term LIFE ain't worth sacrificing for the end result. It's about the journey. In the end, that's all that ever matters regardless of what you're doing and how you're living.
Asking for this sort of advice in an online forum, rather than from a doctor (or from an extremely knowledgeable Coach) is reckless and foolhardy.

Diazide (phonetic spelling, have no clue real spelling) is a potassium-sparing diuretic, but it's still a diuretic and can raise hell on the body if not used properly with guidance by a physician.

Are you a habitual user of caffeine? Coffee drinker?
If so, caffeine will not act like a diuretic in your body. If you're not used to caffeine, it will.
What's in the Jacked supplement?
Ketones? Very low carb diet?
It is easy to drop water without diuretics. It's not bodybuilding here right? Diuretics are often used as a band-aid IMO to make up for people not knowing what they're doing. Hence even then it not always having the right effect. (Of course, this doesn't apply across the board, but enough to make it a very valid point).
Up your sodium and keep it up - no it doesn't make you hold water IF you stay constant and keep it high. Your body will flush out the excess needed to maintain proper intra/extracellular sodium/potassium balance.
If you're in shape a week out, think LESS IS MORE, and don't fall into the voodoo prep week trap.

Hey to each their own on what products they take, like or do not like, but if you are going to take something follow the directions/warnings. Some things are just common sense. But like I said earlier....from her original post it does not seem like the Jack3d or the caffine was the bigger issue. In the end I am just glad she is okay and hope she focuses on her health.

I understand you are a sponsored athlete, but with all due respect, do you know what 1,3 is? You do realize that it is a vasoconstrictor (and baffles my why your brand put it in a pre-WO supplement) and has been linked to numerous ER visits... and is most likely the next supplement to be banned.

Yes, I know it is a derivative of geranium oil which resembles the body’s own chemical messenger, epinephrine (similar to adrenaline). Just like ephedra, which I personally did not think was bad, I think people just mis-used it like they do a lot of products that end up getting banned.
IDK...Just my opinnion...people are free to use what ever products they like, but if someone is going to take a product then I think they should research what they are putting into their body before they do and make there own informed decision on if they think it is good for them or not.

There are a lot of negative effects being reported as of late on BB sites, and at recommended doses. There are also studies done on humans where it caused a hypertensive state based on a ~30% increase in diastolic pressure, dosed at 0.05mg/kg.

I agree completely. But when supplement companies aren't releasing safety data on finished product, and aren't releasing negative studies on ingredients, it is hard for the general public to make an informed decision. I am lucky enough to have access to many studies and live with a researcher. I don't know of many who can boast of the same situation so I'm doing my due diligence to help inform those who either don't have the access or ability to help themselves.

I see where you are coming from and I do not necessarily disagree with you on those things. I am glad you have that kind of knowledgable information to pass on to everyone here. That would be cool to live with a researcher, I live with an athletic trainer so he will have to do! Haha...at least he can help me with my injuries.
Anyway, In the end I am just glad she is okay and I hope she focuses on her health and not worry to much about her first bb show. It is all important for us to get up there on stage and show our best physique, especially after months of hard work, but nothing is more important than our long term health.

This is the most important thing for sure!
I hope the OP is able to compete, but mostly that she takes care of her health.

You go, girl!!! And please keep sharing the results.
Based on some information revealed at a recent workshop I attended, our home is a nutritional supplement free zone due to the pseudoscience used to support product/ingredient claims and lack of regulation around what goes into products (not to mention all the cases of labels that don't match what's actually in the products!!).
We're training and living and competing on real food (not "engineered" food)and making ourselves our own guinea pigs. We still have a tub or two of protein powder on hand for the odd convenience meal, but that's it. Even the vitamins are gone (except for my kids' multis).
I'm reading/researching, too. Textbooks, not web sites, except for these ones:
http://www.csicop.org/si/show/scienc..._and_practice/
http://www.merck.com/mmpe/sec01.html...al%20Disorders
These two books are recent purchases:
Modern Nutrition in Health and Disease
http://www.amazon.com/Modern-Nutriti...0435617&sr=1-1
The Ergogenics Edge
http://www.amazon.com/Ergogenics-Edg...0435587&sr=1-1
and this one's on it's way:
Muscles, Speed, and Lies: What the Sport Supplement Industry Does Not Want Athletes or Consumers to Know
http://www.amazon.com/Muscles-Speed-.../dp/1592289126 Yup, I'm fer shur never gonna be a sponsored athlete!! LMAO But the money I'll save (not to mention my long-term health) on not buying the snake oil will more than make up for that little tragedy!

I'm quite the opposite, Crystol. I like supplements, and I was a sponsored athlete from 2007 until recently. I just have my 'do not take' list, and more specifically my 'do not take in the pre-WO window' list.

Cool! Then I'd venture a guess that what you take actually has proven benefits! We're just giving it a go without to see what happens...
'course our exclusion doesn't include proven drugs: coke, meth, ecstasy, weed... CAFFEINE!!! They're still all okay.

Well meth is 'engineered', so stick with weed and check out heroin (from the poppy plant).

You're right. Best stick with the natural.... Organic laudanum sounds nice.
