Recently I have been receiving a lot of emails as to why my name is no longer on the Olympia list. Unfortunately, I had pulled out of the Olympia 4 weeks due to a knee injury. The doctor was concerned that if I continued on at the pace I was at, then I would need surgery to fix it. He mentioned that if I ceased everything, and stayed off of it as much as I could that my knee should be okay in 8 weeks. I did what was best for me and for my love of competing in the sport. Of course I am very upset about all of this as it was my dream but I can say its not the end of the world and I can assure you there will be many more Ms. Olympias

That sucks, Isabelle! You worked hard to get the Olympia qualification, and now this. But it's great to see you being as positive as you can be with news like this.

Looking forward to see your return to the stage. Have a safe recovery!!!

Belle, thanks for explaining to us why you will not be competing in this year's Ms Olympia. I have no doubt you will qualify again.

I wish you a full recovery!

I'm sorry to hear that! I was looking forward to seeing you on the Olympia stage, but I'm sure that will happen soon. Rest up!

Is it just me or do the lists for all three seem small? Maybe I'm just used to seeing the crazy lists for other shows. Does anybody know how this year compares?

Female bodybuilding is down because of less qualifiers, and Belle & Cathy not competing.

Fitness is about the same as last year.

Figure will be a smaller than last year.

I wouldn't exactly put it that way. Technically, you have until a certain date to send in your contract to compete.Things happen, people's lives change as do their priorities. She qualified and deserved it. It's unfortunate she won't be competing in the show as she has a great look.

Mary Lado, Zivile Raudoniene and Jenn Gates are qualified and won't be competing for various reasons but no one is saying their spots could have been for someone else.

I wish Mary Lado was competing, I always appreciated her physique and her beauty as a competitor. Did she retire or is she just not competing (I thought maybe I read somewhere that she retired from the stage)?

Hey hey hey!!!!!! Don't make this sound so bad Isaac. Of course she deserved her placing. She looks bloody amazing. That is NOT what I meant at all! And yes, things happen and our lives change and we can never predict what's ahead. Not being serious here though kiddo. Lighten up!!!!!!

Goodness me tiger....off to bed!

Do you know why Mary Lado chose not to compete at the O?

LOL! No worries.

I'm not saying this applies to you but I've received a few emails from women who felt slated because someone qualifies and doesn't compete. Or is qualified and competes in multiple shows going into the Olympia. Again not saying you feel this way but others see it as, "taking an olympia qualification from someone else". I don't view it that way but that's just my opinion. We know what they say about opinions.

Mary Lado is retired from competition. I ran into her at the Arnold and she was training girls to compete but had no plans of returning to the stage herself.

She has a great look and her HERS cover was one of my favs.

I am sorry to hear the news, but I am sure you made the right decision. You put your body through so much, and the body knows when it's had enough. Like you said, there will be many more Olympia's but you only get 2 knees.
