I'm excited for round 2 and hoping to present a much better, tighter physique since the last one. 5 more weeks and I'm busting butt. I hope to post pics at about 4 weeks out. No, I took last year off from competing. I did it in 2006. I think the first year, they had close to 80, then in '06, I think it was close to 100 and last year, I think they said they had a little over 100, maybe close to 120 competitors.
The year I did it, I think it was less than 50% trained with Mike. They had a great judging panel that were so encouraging and Mike and Julie did a great job running it on time and very well organized. No worries for us competitors.

I am doing the Indianapolis show June 7, then at least one other Indiana show this summer. I thought of doing this one early on, but I had a vacation filled with (ahem) very rich food in France in early March, so I am racing to get ready as it is.
You know, if you're coming all the way to Ohio anyway, Indiana is not that far away... :D
And yes, I'll have to track you down if I'm there!

I'm so looking forward to this. I will be talking to Heather tomorrow and my friend Nicole Duncan might make the trip up too. She's an awesome person, just full of energy and a great fitness competitor.
I actually met up with Jillian today and we did cardio together at my gym. She's looking good and tight. She hasn't lost what she had when she did the Met. The Atlantic States will hopefully be hers!! I had the front desk guys take 2 pics of us as we were leaving the gym and both are terrible shots :(

It's going great, but things will now get busier. I'll be cooking and packing all next weekend. And with doing 3 back to back :nuts: LOL, it's going to be a challenge, but a good one :) Hope to post a couple of pics this evening. Well, we are all tanned and checked in as of last night. Sorry, no pics at the moment. There were about 61 pre-registered competitors, not including cross-overs. There's one more registration process this morning, so there may be more competitors.
Pre-judging starts at 10am with figure and figure masters.
It's super early now ~ 4:40am. We have PLENTY of time and the Univ of Toledo is only about 15-20 min from our hotel.
Looking tighter this morning, so I'm feeling great. :D Just ready to get the show on the road. So, I'll check back later. Hope to see Shannon there too!

Hey all!! Thanks. The pics look dark :( or is it the computer I'm on here?
I took a few with my camera, but can't download until I get home.
Well, I did find out that there were 22 in Masters and 14 in Class A. Turns out about 11 of the gals in Masters are national level competitors, so needless to say, the line up is amazing! These woman have bought it. Class B and C each have about 12 girls - I'll know for sure tonight.

So, helping us out was Lisa Miles, Latisha Wilder, Briana Tindell (sp?). The judging panel is definitely one of the best and I will talk to them after finals for feedback. I've seem most of these judges at Masters Nationals - 9/10 judges, 4 were women!!

Great audience and they cheered everyone one, which is great when you don't have family or friends there.

Thanks guys too, I tried my best to come in tighter and smaller for this show and there's a slight difference, but I haven't reached my peak yet. Let's see what I can do for next week's show. My dryouts might need to be tighter once again, but hopefully tonight, I can have some steak/seafood...sacrificing carbs and dessert is worth it if I can get closer to the look I need. I will try to get pics taken again in better lighting tonight and Shannon said she'll be there this evening, so I will be meeting up with her and we'll take pics too :p

Thanks mama! I'm just happy to do what I set out and try to look better. LOL - I saw I put the spitting smiley on my post instead of something else - duh. Ah, that nap was great. Heather and I are all cleaned up for the second round. Heather is looking great and is for sure in top 5 in both Masters and the B class. No doubt.

Good morning all! Wow, it was another great show. Yes, I didn't place in either class, however, I spoke to 4 judges and 2 remember me from other shows and said they saw my hard work and changes, however my LEGS are still my issue to balancing out my physique. AND, yup Sioux, I was very happy :D. I really enjoy competing and I don't expect anything, just bring my best.
So, of course, I was able to have a nice cheat meal at Outback last night, however, I still had to get up this morning to do 1 hour of cardio. Not too bad.

Thanks mamas!! I was just happy to be there and accomplish what I set out to do. Mike came over at one point and gave me a big hug and told me how proud he was of me. I carry a part of him up there with me when I hit that stage and just want to represent as well as I can. Now, if I can just get these darn legs down more :banghead:

Hey you! Thanks. I tried to take more, but it was a little hard and I really wish I knew someone who could have held onto my camera to take the comparison shots. Amir Mirandi was there and i may buy the CD with my comparison & regular line-up shots. I need to email him, but that would have to wait, too many other things I need to do now.:D
Heather and I had fun and we went to Outback. It was great to eat something other than chicken or roughy lol. It wasn't huge, but still good and I was happy to eat something different. Back to the diet/dry out today. :(

OK, I was able to steal a few minutes here. Work is chaos today. Official company merger and it's like WTF! So looking forward to getting back to the gym later. 5 more days to the next one.

I never realized there was a thread to this show! I did this one I wish I knew about Siouxcountry I woulda introduced myself to Mel! I was in class B got 7th but it was before I ever worked with Davies, I had no idea how to diet and I didn't do much cardio. I might be going up there to Toledo this weekend for the 2009 Julie Palmer(only night show tho, my sister graduates that day) since Drew is guest posing! If I go, I'll see if I can post some updates!

Yeah Shelly it's today. My two friends Kimmie and Catherine are doing it. It's Kimmies first show, doing figure novice and open. She's been training with Mike for 11 months and the time FINALLY came for her to step up on stage. :awesome: I will share pics when she sends them to me. Catherine recently started with Mike back in Feb. and she's doing bikini (did one figure show). I'm so excited for both of them. Spoke to them last night and this morning. I just hope they really enjoy themselves and aren't too nervous.
