I've heard other news about this show over on FB.com.......disturbing news. TTTG (the head administrator over at femininebodybuilding.com) posted this at the beginning of this year concerning this show:

"If you've already competed in an NPC show and are an NPC athlete, that declares you as an amatuer, if you compete (you don't even have to win, just compete) in this or any other non NPC sanctioned show it can cause you to lose this status and you will be unable to compete in any other NPC show. This was just confirmed with the NPC Head Office this morning. pm IslandGirl or I if you have any questions."

From IslandGirl:

"I'm quite surprised that not many people know this. I hope NPC athletes take notice of this and are aware of the repercussions. I also want everyone to know that it is not only with this show. Any bodybuilding, fitness and figure show that is a non-NPC sanctioned show.

The difference between an Amateur and a Pro.

As an amateur you cannot compete for cash and/or prizes. Prizes in that you can turn it in and sell for money. Regardless if you win, you will still lose your amateur status from the NPC because you opened yourself up to possibly winning money.

As a pro, you compete for money."

Again, from TTTG:

"IslandGirl and I have both contacted the NPC head office and they verified to both of us over the phone that if an NPC registered athlete competes in this show they will lose their NPC status if they find out. So if you choose to compete in this show be aware that it could mean the loss of your NPC card."

Just some more info so that everyone gets the whole story, and so that those who do choose to compete in this show are aware of the possible repercussions of doing so.

How wrong can you be?

All BS,there was a lawsuit about this with the AAU against the NPC and the AAU won.Same here just talk and scare tactics. We ask for a letter and we never got one. There is nothing official out there what says that Amateurs can not compete in this show, why? Because the NPC who actually does not have a license in California by the way since 99 (Lawyers are working on that, big trouble is coming for the loved NPC) knows they will get sued again. It is all to scare people because the NPC is scared that we are going to change Bodybuilding and Figure for the better!!!
There was an official,statement/letter for IFBB Pros but who cares this is not a Pro show.
So let us change the Amateur Bodybuilding/Figure world and get finally something for your hard work!!!
BTW 99% of all Pros do not make any money!

Arnold knows what is good for you!!

All BS,there was a lawsuit about this with the AAU against the NPC and the AAU won.

Would you mind proving this with credible evidence??

Same here just talk and scare tactics. We ask for a letter and we never got one.

Again, would you mind proving with evidence that you asked the NPC for a letter?

There is nothing official out there what says that Amateurs can not compete in this show, why? Because the NPC who actually does not have a license in California by the way since 99 (Lawyers are working on that, big trouble is coming for the loved NPC) knows they will get sued again.

Can you supply proof about your claims concerning the NPC's California license??

There was an official,statement/letter for IFBB Pros but who cares this is not a Pro show.

If other organizations like the IFBB pro league are instructing their athletes to steer clear of your show, why then is it automatically "talk and scare tactics" when it comes to the NPC?? The fact that the IFBB took this step in my mind seems to lend credibility to the claims put out on other boards by NPC officials concerning participation in your show.

Sorry, but your example of the IFBB amateur league is irrelevant. This is concerning the NPC, an AMERICAN organization separate from the IFBB amateur league and thus governed by its own rules and policies. Here is what I am seeing from posts on other boards put out by head officials at the NPC: if any NPC athlete chooses to compete at this show and the NPC finds out about it, that athlete will lose their NPC card and will be unable to compete in any more NPC events. In short, that athlete's amateur career with the NPC will be over. For evidence of this, see the following thread from Muscle Mayhem's forum board:

http://www.musclemayhem.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51660&pp=20&page=5

Whether the NPC's stated course of action is legal or not, I do not know, but this IS what the NPC has been saying concerning this event, and EVERY female NPC athlete here at siouxcountry.com deserves to be told this information. I HAVE been keeping up with what's going on, Ben. I've seen you spamming this show on every forum board out there for months now. I've seen you spouting off with ad hominems against anyone and everyone who disagrees with you, such as the time you called Chad Nicholls a "no-name NPC chairman" on his OWN BOARD, as the thread above will show. I also know that you've KNOWN this information about the NPC and your contest for MONTHS now, as the above thread will show. It is therefore interesting that you have not bothered in a single post on THIS thread on Sioux's board to bring this information to light for the ladies at SC.com. You claim to care about the athletes: does it really reflect care for the athletes to willingly withhold information that very well may jeopardize the careers of several promising amateur athetes on this board?? I don't think so. EVERY lady that competes in NPC has the right to this information so that they can make a truly informed decision as to how to proceed, and the NPC ladies on Siouxcountry's board are certainly no exception.

IFBB Amateurs and NPC Athletes have the same rules,it can not be that one Amateur Organization punish their Athletes for competing for money and the other put on shows so that Amateurs can make money. It is either you are allowed to take money as an Amateur or not and the IFBB Amateurs are allowed to.
What you saying is that if an NPC Athletes competes in the Elite series or any other IFBB Amateur competition where he gets money that he looses his Amateur status in the NPC?
Think about it!!
makes no sense, again lawsuits would follow and NPC would loose again!

...........and one last think my friend from October till January the NPC was fine with our Event,I have many witnesses for that. When I stated that NPC Athletes could compete at our show without any problems, they flipped and said I was a lier.

If Athletes want to get hold hostages from an Organization where 99% of all Athletes who turn Pro never make any money, than so be it and nobody can help them.
All our Athletes on the Poster got blackmailed from your loved NPC/IFBB Organization. My sponsors got blackmailed by this great Organization to and 2 dropped out because of that.Posters get stolen on a weekly basis.I got death threads yesterday....................I really think it is time to change Bodybuilding and Figure for the better.

July 27th will be the first step...........................let's do this step together so we can grow

You are my Friend Sioux,so I am a little confused that you saying that, because you are a man of facts.
Like i said before there is no official letter for that why?
Simple it is called "monopolize" the NPC tried this with the AAU,got sued and lost big time. You can not forbid as an Amateur (Amateur not Pros who have contracts)Organization your Athletes to compete somewhere else.
Show me the letter!!!
There is none,just scare tactics.

www.internationalclassicslasvegas.comnobody is forbiden to compete anywhere. The NPC does have Rules and Regulations. In an effort to eliminate confusion among NPC fitness competitors concerning their amateur status, the NPC Fitness Division will follow the bodybuilding division rules for status as an amateur;

A.) Once a fitness athlete competes in an NPC sanctioned fitness contest, you have declared yourself an amateur. If you then go and compete in another fitness contest for cash or cash prizes (i.e. car, vacations trips, etc.) you are no longer considered an amateur by the NPC. But that does not make you a professional in the IFBB either. This must be done by qualifying through our NPC sanctioned fitness contests.

Hello my friend,
it is just talk, they know if the would send out a letter that they will be sued like they have been sued by the AAu years ago and they lost.It is called"monopolize" and you can not do that. The only weapon they have is talk. They can forbid their Pros to be involved in our show and they did so in a public letter. They can not do this with Amateurs because they have no contracts and it is illegal!

OK, if it ISN'T a fake, then please explain to all of us why this supposed letter from the Governator is dated July 27, 2008, and it's not even JUNE yet (see post #5 in this thread for the letter he is referring to)?? Perhaps you might want to call your lawyers, or at least head to the nearest non-extradition country??

My assumption would be that it is dated for July 27, 2008 because it is to be read the day of the show? Since if you look at the last bit, Arnolds last sentence is "Good luck to TODAY's competitors..."

Well, I've officially had enough of this malarky. If any athlete from the NPC wants to go and compete at a show that to me stinks to high heaven of being a scam, fine. ParadiseCup and myself have simply tried to get the word out to NPC athletes as to what the NPC is saying about this show, and we've done our job. If we turn out to be wrong in what we've been saying, I'll be the first to admit it and apologize to you right here on this thread, Ben: I try as hard as I can to be egoless, and as such am not afraid to admit when I've been dead wrong about something. However, I personally would rather err on the side of caution and tell what I know, rather than keep information to myself that just might save the amateur careers of several promising NPC athletes on this board. However, if we turn out to be right in what we've been saying, I hope that no NPC athletes here at SC.com that have read this thread and compete at this show will be surprised if the NPC gives them a call and asks for their card back, and they CERTAINLY shouldn't go around saying that they weren't warned. Everything I have done here, I have done for the good of the ladies here at SC.com; ladies that I have the utmost respect and admiration for, and that I would do everything in my limited power to protect from possibly jeopardizing their careers. Hope that everyone is doing well in life and training, and I hope to see many of you at a show sometime in the future!!

like I said before, there is no and there will no official letter what says so.
Simple like that. The NPC would loose a lawsuit and they know.So compete make some money and if they do anything, sue and make more money.
There are countless examples of Athletes who competed in other Organizations for money and came back.
This show is to appreciate the Athletes for their hard work and nothing else.
It is time to change Bodybuilding/Figure for the better.
