Ladies and Gentleman! I am PROUD to announce our 2008 NPC New York Metropolitan Bodybuilding, Fitness & Figure Overall Figure Winner (1st Place Class C Winner) - KATHERYNNE RAMIREZ!!!!
Wonderful news! So, as the unofficial interviewer for Siouxcountry.com, tell us Kat, how are you feeling?
Describe to us, your fans, how you felt when you realized you won your class?
And when they announced you as the overall winner, what were you thinking?
How long did you prepare for this show and what did you do this off-season differently from last year?
Did you feel you were ready or like some competitors, usually feel that another week is needed?
However, looking at your 2 week out pics and 1 week out pics, you were on target and I have to agree with the judges on this one for sure.
What did you do to celebrate your victory?
What are your plans now? You know we all want to see you on the National stage.
What are your thoughts on that?
And finally, is there anyone you want to thank or of course, your group of supporters you'd like to have mentioned here?
I will have closing comments once we hear back from Kat....stay tuned

Katherine's response:
Thank you Mel,
I was so happy when I got called my name out as my class winner... for the overall call, I was extremelly nervous.... When they called out my name I was so in shocked.. OMG... I loved it, but then I came to my sences and the tears couldn't stop falling from my eyes... the first person I huged was My dear grl Jill, and then of course, you...
I really couldn't do this show without chris as my trainer and jill as my workout partner... We had our ups and downs, but at the end of each workout, we were happy we still had the striving feeling of achievement..
Chris really did his home work.. he knew how to handle my training, we did minor adjustments to my diet and we just took it day by day... His goal was to have us ready 2 weeks before, and he nailed it, I tell you....
I went home after show and washed dishes.lol, but the next day, i got together with my team, and we hit that apple pie spot, and really enjoyed eachother's company; it was soooo perfect, Mamoosa, apple pie, and vanilla bean ice cream.. yummo!!!
We will start working on a plan for Team U...
Thank you all for all your support, and blessings...
I can't ask for more... this is the meaning of "family love"

Oooooo I have a question!!
First off, congrats on your victory, it was VERY well deserved, you definitely brought together the entire package that Figure is all about, beauty, muscle, poise...etc. Great job! :awesome:
Now onto my question...I just LOVE your delts/arms... How did you manage to keep your size through drying out and the diet/cardio? Keeping my upperbody size has always been the hardest part for me once I start my prep since all my weight disappears up top first ugh..

goodmorning everyone!
good question!
As kat's trainer perhaps i can answer this one.
As kat mentioned, we really played close attention day by day and week by week, to her physique. This allowed us to understand and identify the effects of the diet and cardio, changes to protein, carbs, fat were made accordingly.
also choosing the right source of macronutrients playes a huge part as well.
i think what also helps is to have someone with a really good eye to help assess your physique.
lastly, cardio range and duration is also impotant, time spent versus fat burning, remember not all calories burned are from fat, so very important to find the right balance and intensity during cardio.
with kat and jill, they were both very efficient with there cardio session.
well hope this helps...

Thanks for the info! It's so great that you all have each other! It must make everything that much easier. I see how important it is to have someone watching your body change through every step! Great job trainer! :)

Thanks Chris for telling us how you planned and worked with making Kat "Unstoppable"! She indeed presented a beautiful physique and her inner beauty was icing on the cake. I MUST say it was a pleasure being with her (& Jillian & you) backstage.
Kat, still need a few more answers from above:
How did you get started?
Roughly, how are you (& Chris) tentatively at this point, planning your prep for Nationals?
Will we see you do another show before Nationals?

This year the Figure Nationals are attached to the bodybuilding Nationals in November.
They switched things around a bit, and yes it's confusing. :D

Thanks Sioux! Yeah, it is a little confusing.
I realized though that I should be stating "Team U" not Nationals. Kat mentioned Team U in her earlier response. Team Universe Figure Championships, NYC, Sept. 5-6, 2008

So last night, I was sitting here at home, checking at the NPC comp schedules bc I was interested in competing in Atlanta... Then I noticed in fine print that it says "all athletes need to be us citizen to compete in Nationals." I'm like wtf???? I been in this country long enough, but my mother never took the time to make me a citizen while I was young.... I grew up pretty quick; was already living on my own by 14, so the last thing I had on my mind was to apply to become a citizen... Now, today at work, I was going off the walls, trying to call my accountant so he can do the process... he said it will take long... So I went to the Imigration website and bought the citizenship application package.. I started filling it out, but just the thought about the long process that it will take, was giving me a huge headache.. I'm not going to give up... I will finish filling the damm thing and send it out ASAP... If I don't get this thing i won't be able to compete in Team U:banghead::banghead::banghead:

Thanks darling, you too..
I went to this citizen worshop at Brooklyn school of Law. They helped me out and my application is ready to go. The lawyer said for me to try to find out if the federation would allow me to bring in the letter they will send me in 3 weeks, confirming I applied and will receive my appointment letter soon. He also said it'll take about 4 to 6 months for me to get called for my citizenship interview...
All I can say is, if I can't compete in team U, then I will just have to compete in 2009. I am keepiing positive and wiill pray things go my way..
Other than that.. A very beautiful day indeed:D..
Gotta run to see my family now. have a great evening.:awesome::awesome::waving:
