I do... sometimes I get sick of eating... honestly. Thats why I need a plan offseason not just so I don't get out of shape but so I eat enough... Before I started lifting I could live on two meals a day easy I just get sooooo busy with the kids I'm hungry but won't stop to eat unless I make it a priority. This offseason I just ate and ate and ate LOL The winter being stuck in the house makes it easier LOL

If I've eaten a lot of crap before starting my "real" off-season diet, it's taken me some time to adjust to the frequent, smaller, cleaner meals. But, knowing that the weekly cheats are on the schedule, it doesn't take long to adjust to eating what I'm supposed to eat.

Ohhh yes... I have been counting every gram and every calorie for seven years, and it's really hard to get used to eating more while I'm bulking :eat:. I think that has hindered my gains in the past, along with endless hours of cardio :tr: But I'm getting there slowly but surely.

Thats a big YES for me! That is why I like cutting. Less food. I miss my chocolate and my pizza....but I am more comfortable eatting less. When I have to force food down, it just makes me eat less at the next meal, or skip my next meal. That was a big problem of mine last year. Also When things bother me, I just can't eat. My stomach gets too upset.
This year we slowly added calories, but I ate half of what I did the last season, and It was much eaiser for me this time around. When things bothered me, I reminded myself I needed to grow, and I ate my meals anyway. Was nausious(sp?), but I did it

Not usually, but this last off season, I had a halluva time finding my appetite. I blame it on stress and going through some pretty bad shit. It wasn't fun feeling sick half the time trying to get all of my food in :(

I sometimes have this problem in the off-season. I get lazy about making meals too. It's not that I don't get enough calories...I get plenty of calories. It's that I sometimes eat 2-3 times a day instead of 5-6. This is something to watch out for because it will slow down your metabolism.

YES & YES! Hah... I think SC posted this thread with ME in mind. Yeppers, tomorrow I have my WHOLE pizza with all the toppings...and 4 to 6 (diet) root beer sodas, quarter glass Merlot.
Only difference between this pre-contest (4.5 wks out) to Off-season is I DID eat fried chicken tenders ALSO with the pizza AND 2 full glasses of merlot.
Bon Appetit!
I sure do!!!
I didn't even hit where I should have been at caloric wise til the very end of my off season :(

Hey Shannon! That's where BREAD comes into play. I "made up" for target calories and carb macronutrients with 4-6 slices of bread and 4 slices of cheese DAILY! Mmmmmmmm... *sobbing* I mess the OFF-season.
Oh NOW you tell me :p
I'll keep that in mind for next off season for sure! A lot of it with me came as a mind jack, because growing up I was ALWAYS very chunky or overweight (size 13 and 175 lbs from 8th grade to junior yr in college, while always playing sports) so originally after losing weight I did it with diet alone, then turned into a cardio queen
It was a year or two ago that I turned that around and started focusing on weights, so getting the cals up there or "bulking" still a work in progress

hell no...i eat too damn much. i can go on forever. i really think i could do one of those eating contests, not a big national one, just a local one, at a fair maybe. i dont know about winning but i could hold my own well.

I hear ya' Shannon! I think I was ready for just that 3 weeks ago in New Orleans. That's when I substituted the Pizza for Crawfish Pasta, Garlic Cheese Bread, Fried Artichoke Crab Cakes, and home-made Pitachio Ice-Cream over a warm Brownie (not quite as good as the Coconut Bread Pudding that next day).:)

it's funny i have to force myself to eat. when i am active i have no appetite.
when i was playing football, i couldnt really eat. same with wrestling. i had to force myself to eat.
i have been on this "eating plan" for like 8 weeks now, and i am eating more food then i did before. i was the king of the one meal days. my metabolism was basically none existant.
im one of those people who basically has no appetite. i dont get hungry, nor do i get full. i can go a day without eating, but then the next day eat non-stop. i've had to learn how and when to eat.

Oh NO! Not another "Katrina evacuee" huh? (lol) I've been in the metroplex for 11 years. My parents evacuated in 2005.
Nope not at all... I lived in Dallas for the last 14 years, but got bored with it... didn't do anything besides work and workout so when the oppotunity came to move I took it :)

An easy trick to help to make sure you are eating enough, is to have a pre-made protein shake by your bedside. Set your alarm for 2am or so, and when the alarm goes off, chug the drink and go back to bed. After a few days your body will get used to it. Make sure you use casein protein, not whey. The casein takes longer to digest, you don't want your body eating muscle while you are sleeping.

In the off-season?
ha ha:D
My problem in the offseason is I can't stop eating. I think I got up to 194 this offseason. Now the offseason prior I gt up to 198 lbs:angel: I just love food. Being a bodybuilder I eat to grow in the offseason, so I never get enough FOOD.

see i will get that too.
i can tell when my blood sugar drops, and i force myself to eat. i get sluggish, and start getting a headache. i'll grab something with even a lil sugar in it, and i'll be fine. even like a Gatorade or something. though i know its not the answer, but it works...:D
Yup B, I like you sometimes have to eat based off my blood sugar... I'll start getting dizzying headaches and know then that its time to eat.
LOL, my problem is usually eating too much. I'm the type who likes the carbs and chocolate. Give me a block of chocolate and I'll find it hard to put the brakes on!
