Thanks sweets! I've gotten pretty good at traveling with my food but I like to have something lined up just in case. What can I say? I'm a planner.

How do you fly with your food? I've heard of people cooking, then freezing it, & putting it in a cooler. Then, just check the cooler? Is this what you have done?

I've been wondering about the same thing. I don't mind making/freezing/packing but I thought with all the baggage restrictions, security, and not to mention how much stuff competitors bring with them to a competition that it would be hard to do? hmmm?

i have cooked and took all of my food such as chicken, fish, steak and hard boiled eggs on the plane in a cooler with no problem. The only thing you have to worry about is liquids like peanut butter etc. that i had to pack in my check in bag and just make sure you have it in double plastic bag and try to take in a plastic container instead of glass in case it breaks. I really had not problem at all. Don't stress about it just make sure you plan and take a couple extra meals in case. you never know I've been wondering about the same thing. Yup, freeze all my cooked proteins and they keep the veggies cold and fresh, just like ice. I normally carry on the mini-soft cooler because I'm paranoid about losing it. Piece o' cake.

Funny... Amy, I thought the same thing. If she's got cake I need to know what room she'll be in.

I always freeze all of my food and carry it with me. It all keeps well. I have my meals for the day thawed and ready to eat whether on the plane or in the airport during those oh so fun layovers. As for water, since you can't bring it through security, I've done it 2 different ways. I've carried an empty gallon jug and then filled it after security. It helps when you're keeping an eye on what your intake is. I've also just purchased a couple of liters before boarding at the oh so cheap.... NOT.... store after security.

I always fly with all of my food and my suit. I figure if my suitcase doesn't make it at least I'll have the necessities and the rest I can beg, borrow, or buy...

Can't wait for the show, looks like from SC it's going to be a great line-up. Any "F" class girls out there?

Gennifer

Gen, I'm either E or F. I'm not sure. Can't wait to meet you, you looked great in Pittsburgh!

Another thing that the airlines may call you out for it the ice packets. Target has ice blankets, about $3. They are great for traveling.. I placed everything in zip locks to avoid the bulkiness of Tupperware...

It's sad when a girl has to check her shoes and carry on her food....

Absolutely carry-on your suit, shoes, hair iron & enough food for the immediate need. The rest can be replaced......trust me, I know. It is NOT easy to find stripper heels on the quick, especially in a strange town, and SC is in the SOUTH.

Listen Ladies, if someone had a crises, I would loan you my shoes (as long as we were not in the same class, coz we can't wear them at the same time), but I was a little surprised & dismayed that I had one break, no one even offered.....

Driving around Columbus looking for a "Fredricks" between rounds was STRESSFUL!! Now I always bring a back up pair....
