TWO MONTHS FROM TODAY!!!!!! We are now a little less than 9 weeks away from the return of the IFBB New York Pro Show for Women, to be held in conjunction with the IFBB New York Pro Show for Men. This is a Steve Weinberger/Bev Francis promotion. Both prejudging and the finals will be on Saturday May 10, 2008. Time schedules will be announced.

Contracts have been sent to the FBB's who have expressed an interest to me and many of you have already sent your requests to ifbbprodivision@aol. <mailto:ifbbprodivision@aol.com (http://us.mc558.mail.yahoo.com/mc/compose?to=ifbbprodivision@aol.com)> com care of Theresa...You should have an email and these contracts by Tuesday March 11th..Please send them back quickly. I am sorry if there was any confusion here, the show was added after the initial schedule of events and as such the IFBB did not make a mass mailing.

The show will be competed in one weight class, with the top 3 finalists qualifying for the Ms. Olympia. WITH THE ADDITION OF SPONSORS, AWEFILMS AND LION'S DEN GYM THE PRIZE MONEY NOW STANDS AT $10,000. Tentatively the prize money will be $4000 for first place, $2000 for second place and $1000 for third place. THE LION'S DEN GYM BEST POSER WILL BE AWARDED $1000. The deadline for entry is March 28, 2008.

THE AWEFILMS STRENGTH COMPETITION WILL BE HELD BETWEEN THE PREJUDGING AND THE FINALS..THERE WILL BE A PULLUP AND A PUSHUP COMPETITION TO EXHAUSTION. Tentatively the prize money will be $500 for first place in each event and a $1,000 prize will be awarded for the best overall strength competitor based on placings in both events..Rules will be announced shortly but deadline for entering this part of the competition will be April 11, 2008 as preparations will need to be made.

You may have noticed that the prize money has been reduced from $13,000 to $10,000. We had two minor sponsors drop out. I would love to restore this money or even increase it. As such I am making a plea here for sponsors. If any of you know anyone or any company who would like to be a minor sponsor, Species would pledge the following...For any sponsor of $1,000 or more, 100% of the money would go into the prize fund...the sponsor would get to present at least one trophy and would get their name and company mentioned at the night show...and the sponsor would recieve two tickets to the event as well as oodles of great species merchandise...We would need to hear about this quickly so ladies this is a chance to help yourselves...the money would go to 1st and 2nd places increases, a second place in the strength contests AND place prizes for 4th through 6th and perhaps some expense money...Let's see what determined women can do in a short period!!

While there is no official host hotel, competitors traditionally stay in either the Marriott Financial Center 85 West Street, 212-385-4900 or the Embassy Suites 102 North End Avenue 212-945-0100. There are other alternatives but transportation may prove more difficult. I understand that these hotels are filling up quickly and are becoming pricey..Alternative hotels in the downtown area as well as Grammercy Park and Soho are being researched...I will advise

I'm 7 weeks out of the New York Pro Show May 10Th. I actually weighted 150.3 before I sat down to write. I feel real full today, but it's a compact feeling. I'm very happy with the way I look right now. I'm hard and full, my legs have made improvements. I can feel it in my clothes and when I touch them. I feel lumps and bumps I haven't before. I'm hitting my mandatories 3 rounds/ day. My work outs are great pumps and very focused. It's like I can control every muscle. My triceps and calves are really round and hard. Both have striations and shape that's new. these 2 were accessory parts I had plan to slowly work on. Well, it seems to have paid off some. I'm really working on keeping my legs full but stimulated. I don't want to lose any size while I diet. My waist is so tiny, for me..lol, I love to just wrap my hands around it and flare my lats.

thank you for your support . i wish i will look good like this right now!!! i am close of NY pro show... but this time hard time... i hurt one of my feets and hurt really bad for the last month .. when i train legs aouchhh for 3-4 day where i can't walk right and if i do cardio that i have no choice i need to put some hot patch so i dont feel nothing but after again its suck.. posing damm hard too.. dammm what happen here... getting old !!!
and i move in a new house after the arnold's and did a lot of traveling for gaspari...didn't stop kind burn myself.. i thought i was superman wife hahahah lol and got some power :)
i guess its a good thing they say i was to small the hard diet kind burn some muscle but we see this time i should be around 5 lbs more.. not as lean but just in shape like the top 5 was with me lol....

I'm 2.5 weeks from the NY Pro show. Things are coming together nicely. I woke up at 146 lbs this morning which is pretty heavy for me. I'm still losing fat and staying full and hard. No matter what.. I can see the changes for the better. I really haven't been writing much because I feel like all I do is complain when it gets close to the show. I'm tired and way to tired to do any extra talking. I just found out that there are no props allowed at the show, so I now have to make up another routine. The one I was going to do only fit with the props I had. Maryjanes leg is terrible again. I've been doing cardio walks without her, and its been lonely. I have NEVER done this walk with out her. It really isn't the same and I miss my pacesetter. I use to enjoy the walks because she did. Its depressing. She may need surgery. My grandfather has a very bad illness and is in the hospital and of course.. it never fails before a show.. I think I may have a tooth issue. Oh, my sink is leaking and my dishwasher broke, so.... all of that I'm holding together.

Awefilms is sponsoring the strength show between pre judging and finals at the NY Pro show. Sadly the venue is refusing to allow weights on the stage so it will be limited to pull-ups and push-ups

WOW... just a few days away from the NY PRO. I can't believe that it is HERE. When you measure time in bodybuilding weeks... the year goes by so fast. I hate that. You are counting down the weeks till the show and time never moves faster.

Am I ready? I am better than I was at the Arnold.... that is without question. But, can I top my conditioning at the Europa, 2006. That is what remains to be seen. I am busting my ass here... and kicking things into high gear this week... it isn't over till its over, right? I have a few more to go... But, I need to be under 150#. I am sitting at 152# right now and my best is around 145-146#. So, there is still some work to do here.

I always learn something about myself preparing for a show.... I think that is what makes it so addicting. There is something about the discipline that is exciting. It makes you do things that you wouldn't normally do.. like walk to the gym from my house that is not exactly close. It was such a nice day.. way to nice to do cardio indoors.

I am just going to go and do my thing... I am looking forward to competing. It is really going to be a good time.

Whatever the outcome... I am having fun and keeping the dream alive. It isn't always about winning... it is about being in the moment and seeing something to completion.

Well the time has come to shine. It is Wednesday evening, I have 2 coats of color on and my packing is about finished. Wendi will come over 2 more times tomorrow to apply more color to my body. Thursday is my last day; I have to get to bed early and leave the house by 4:30 am on Friday. Joel will pick me up from the airport, and Beth Roberts will be my "bag bitch" meaning she is there to help with whatever I need, color, food prep, etc. I'm looking forward to it. It's going to be a great time.

I must say that this is definitely the best I have looked. I'm full, ripped and heavy. I've been working on my presentation hard for the past 5 weeks. I plan to bring a package that you can't take your eyes off. That's my goal!!!

I met her and Claudia Partenza at the Atlantic City Pro last year. :awesome:

Giusy Caputo of Sicily (though the IFBB lists her as competing for Italy) was 8th place under 135 and Claudia Partenza took 11th in the same weight class at that show.

The women’s top three look to be Dena Westerfield, Cathy Le Francois and Rosemary Jennings. I’d go with Cathy first, Rosemary second but Dena I didn’t have in the top three. I actually had her fifth behind Jeannie Paparone and Debi Laszewski. Jeannie looked very good with great conditioning. Debi also looked good and was poised on stage. Dena looked good and improved as she posed in her conditioning, perhaps that is what the judges saw and rewarded her accordingly. Annie Rivieccio looks to be in sixth place. Tina Chandler had a nice debut and could tell was nervous as she posed. If she polishes her posing she could move up. A little off in the conditioning but not by much she looks to be around 7th place.

Gomez wins Battle of the Carb Depleted

Held in conjunction with this year's New York Pro Championships was a Strength Show sponsored by Species Nutrition and Awefilms. A total of nine contestants (all of whom competed in the pro bodybuilding contest) competed in two events - chin-ups and pushups. The winner of each competition was awarded $500, with another $1,000 presented to the overall winner.

Taking part in the competition was Debbie Bramwell, Mercedes Bazemore, Kim Buck, Guisy Caputo, Tina Chandler, Elizabeth Gomez, Annie Rivieccio, and Tonie Thompson.

The first event staged was pushups. All nine contestants lined up across the stage side-by-side and were asked - on command - to perform pushups in continuous fashion (at the same time) until competitors began to fail in their individual efforts. One -by-one, contestants began dropping out until the final contestant - Mexico's Elizabeth Gomez - stayed alive until her final challenger, Annie Rivieccio, was unable to continue. Gomez claimed the $500 prize.

For the chin-up event, contestants were required to go down to straight arms and chin themselves to a 90-degree angle in the up position for each chin to count. Tonie Thompson led off the group due to the fact that she was the first competitor to drop out of the pushup event - she totaled 12 chins. Following Thompson, each contestant took her turn in reverse order from when the dropped out in the pushup round. That said, Elizabeth Gomez was last to take her shot at chin-ups knowing Annie Rivieccio has just performed a total of 19 just before Gomez's's turn.

Not one to back down from a challenge, Gomez showed surprising toughness as she squeezed out 22 chins to win the event and the $500 prize. As icing on her victory cake, Gomez also added the grand prize of $1,000 for her overall win in both events. Her total winnings for her effort in the event tallied $2,000.

All nine contestants deserved a special note of appreciation as ‘good sports' considering the fact that all were competing in a notable state of carb depletion and low energy due to their dieting for the bodybuilding contest.

The final result in the chinning competition was:

Good show. Jeannie Paparone was really impressive, and tightened up a lot for the night show. Cathy looked phenomenal as usual. Rosemary looked much better at prejudging and then not so much at night.

I met her and Claudia Partenza at the Atlantic City Pro last year. :awesome:

Giusy Caputo of Sicily (though the IFBB lists her as competing for Italy) was 8th place under 135 and Claudia Partenza took 11th in the same weight class at that show.

What did you think of these two? I just loved 'em @ the Tampa Pro. Giusy was shredded and Claudia carried her muscle in a lovely/sexy way. Did a shoot at the Hyatt with her in a style that would certainly have violated the standards the IFBB ladies rep wants, but will dole the picks out shortly as she is such a beauty. :D
