In 06 Most of the Top 5 finishers in the BB classes came from FL...host city Miami
So I wondered would the same thing be true for 07 nationals...host city Dallas

With the help of Steve Wennerstorm...

TX and FL topped it off w/ 5 competitors each
GA was 2nd w/ 3 competitors
NY, IL, ID, MN, CA, NC and OK each had 1 competitor

So my lil theory kinda worked...

So will the 08 Nationals be respresented well by the state of GA since itll be in their back yard in HOT ATL...we will see.

Interesting Drex, there was a thread similar to this on Gene X's site where it was asked which state has the most FBB's. Tx and Fl are hotbeds for them as well as some other states. Who knows with it being in ATL this yr though.

One would think California would have the most competitors in the top 5.

Thx Dallas...I think it was on Gene's or George's site where they talked about the 06 nationals top 5...

What competitors went from figure to BB and turned Pro as a BB at a national show?
I know of one...Beni Lopez

Also,

Are there any competitors who placed Top 5 in both figure n fitness?

I just read about Nicole Wilkins winning both her classes and the overalls in both figure and fitness @ team u last yr...Thats a BIG WOW

So that leads me to another question are there any other competitors like Nicole?

Are you sure Beni never competed in bodybuilding before figure, like Lisa Bickels?

Is this all bodybuilders or just fbb...if female, then NC did have 1...if men and women I know of 2 off the top of my head...and if I'm not mistaken there were maybe 1-2 others.... . But for NC, Britt Miller and Johnny McKnight IV (bantamweight), I know for sure in BB. Wendy Wolbert & Lishia Dean-Fitness..gotta find the other names in BB. Wendy and I were in the same figure class for the show we did 2 weeks b4 Nationals. She got 4th place. She won her class in fitness.

Made a boo boo!! You wanted to know who from each state had Top 5 finishers...Wendy Wolbert got 6th-sorry, Lishia Dean 3rd. Britt Miller 2nd, Johnny McKnight 3rd. So NC had 3 competitors finish in Top 5 for 07 Nationals.

And yes...not sure how many top 5 finishers will be outta ATL this year...but I know there will be alot of folks there. I know of a few ppl who are just go'n to do the show b/c it's convenient, etc. I was advised that you should always do a Jr. show prior to go'n to Nationals...ur almost guaranteed to get lost of stage ..which leads me to another questions???

Besides Natalie Benson.....does any1 know of any competitor to get their pro card at their very 1st national pro-qualifier.

I am almost 99% sure that Beni had competed in BB in the past, then did figure, and back to BB where she got her pro card. I remember reading about Beni and how she didn't do well at North American in figure so decided to give BB a try again...

Why dont do Jr show b4 Nationals? I know for me...
I thought Hell if I got 9th at Jr. Nationals Im probably going to get 18th...oh know my hard work is not worth 18th place...so another reason for me to get out...

Natalie got her Pro card @ her 1st national show, really?

Yes....that was her 1st National show.

For some reason, alot of folks do not do Jr. shows...they go straight to nationals. There is a mag in our area called Southern Muscle that is devoted strictly to the Southeastern States...the editor was pretty pissed, b/c for 1 there wasn't that much representation (except for figure) from the Southern states at the Jr. USA which is in SC...but when he looked at that stats for the Nationals it was like every1 and they mama went to compete in BB and the majority had never competed on the national stage. The writer was just saying that you should work you way up....and unless your physique just says look at me, look at me...you would more than likely get lost on stage (especially in figure and mens bb)...b/c unfortunately we all know the judges will look 4 who they are familiar with and they want 2c improvements.....so it was just explained that it's always good to get your name out there w/ a Jr. show 1st vs. go'n straight 2 USA or Nationals.

I think a person should get all the experiene they can get...come @ USAs, NAs, TU and Nationals everybody and thier momma come w/ their A game...

If they are bling bling then i say go for it...

My friend Tina Chandler did I think 2 local shows...
Went to USAs and got 2nd-05, then 1st-06...
Went to Nationals last in 06 and got 5th behind Lisa Bickels...that was a tough class...she saw what the judges preferred came in a lil different in 07 and turned Pro...

Yes....that was her 1st National show.

What competitor turned Pro in less than 3 shows?

Like they did a local national qualifier and won or got 2nd...or the did a local show, a national qualifier and won/gpt 2nd then...
went to a national show and turned Pro

Then you wonder who is still competing and hasnt turned Pro yet...
After 5-10 yrs....

Some more interesting facts...

Tera Guzman and Elena Sieple have both placed top 5 since 2004..Tera's highest placing of 2nd was in 04 and Elena's highest placing of 2nd was 04 and 06...I think they need to go back to their training logs and recreated those packages...

Jamie T, Kristy H, Lora O (all 3 have turned Pro) and Gale F have all placed Top 5 @ nationals 3 times.

Tina C, Dena W, Deb L, MiMi J, Bev D (all 5 have turned Pro) Galina S, Yahira ?, Janet K and Amy N have all placed Top 5 @ nationals 2 times.
