Best of luck to you both, Shawn and Tami (I believe her husband is also competing at this show)!!! Safe journey and good times to you, Kate, and everyone else who's attending!!! From what I've heard, this show is fast becoming one of the biggest in the Midwest. Is that true, anybody??

I believe it is. Last year they had about 260 total athletes at this show with no late enrty forms accepted or crossovers allowed. Roger and Sandy do a very good job with the show.

Unfortunately, no I'm not. It's not the distance from home; it's just that the money isn't there. :pout: :(

I will make sure that I take pictures. I thought Mr. Bellon was competing also but I wasn't positive because bless his little heart...he only speaks of Tami. Sure loves his honey.

Yes I believe this is the largest or going to be the largest in the midwest. I had planned on this show until I had surgery in August then decided I need much more time off so that I could heal and train hard for growth. Plus I am a big fan of Beverly. LOL No I am not paid to say that but I do sell their supplements and proteins. I am taking my little guy with me for the day. It should be fun. I just have to figure out what to do during the hours between. LOL

What a day it was at the Northern KY

They put on such a good show and it appeared to be run very well. BUT IT WAS HUGE AND VERY VERY LONG.

I literally got there when it started at 10 and I left at 10:15 pm when the figure open classes were just starting to hit the stage again for the finals. I got home at almost 1 am and was exhausted. Spent most of all yesterday in bed with a migraine.

I have SOME pics but don't know how well they turned out. My camera doesnt do the best job in that lighting. I will check them out tonight.

I have to give some huge kudo's to my Indiana chicks that placed very very well in the competition. There were quite a few girls from Indianapolis there and I was really proud of them as in Indianpolis we are not REALLY STRONG when it comes to having enough competitions or the support in what we are doing. SO KUDOS One of my little chica's who had done her FIRST show with me last year took first in her Masters division. SOOOOO proud of her.

Shawn did not compete but looked fantastic....with his Bronchitis that he developed and then the passing of his Aunt just a week ago....he felt he really should pull out. And he would have only been the only heavy weight there so it was good after all.

Tami....well she didn't come in as she wanted to come in for this show and it was evident on her face when I spoke with her how dissapointed she was. It literally boke my heart to see her so upset. We all know we have times like that. She still looked great but it wasn't Tami's best and she knew it and it hurt her a great deal as she puts that type of pressure on herself as most of us do. I tried to remind her that last year for my SIXTH and yes I said that SIXTH show....I soooo wanted to do well and hold my ground. I worked my booty off but the body just wasn't helping me at all. Then I became hypoglycemic at the show and basically spent two days vomiting over the railing before walking out on stage and after coming off the stage. I obviously took one of the dead last positions. I was mortified but I smiled, went up there anyway each time, prayed I wouldn't pass out and was gracious and kind. This is what Tami did and I was very proud of her for putting her personal opinion behind her and shinining on that stage with the package that she took. I believe Tami if you read this with all my heart that THAT IS WHAT MAKES A CHAMPION.

Kira...is looking very very good. Cute thing that she is...she walks in with this adorable little short orange dress on and boots. What a doll. I got to meet a few more of her friends and her brother. (what a doll baby) man if I was just a decade or two younger. LOL

I finally was able to meet Kim Ferrell in person. She lives right here and I have talked to her a few times but not met in person. What a sweetheart. I hope that I get the opportunity to speak with her more at the upcoming summer comps right here.

Ok so that is my rundown. Great show, very well run, some wonderful competition at this show so anyone in the future in the midwest thinking of one to do...this one gets an A ++ MUAH KMS AKA (Siskell and Ebert) LOL

Oh and PS

I didn't mean that as a slam about Indiana....I just mean that of the midwest states....we seem to have in my opinion fewer competitors so therefore it's very difficult to be able to band together and be able to support one another. And if we don't have fewer competitors then it's more a matter of being spread so far apart from one another. If I want support in the gym...I have to drive to the other part of the city where I will find the same type of dedication to fitness that I feel and they understand what I am doing. In my gym...yes dedication to fitness but as one lady said to me...(what do you have to do with your diet...like diet for two weeks really hard) LOL UMMMM NOPEY NOPEY

Thanks for the report, Kate. I've been wondering how things went down there. Sorry to hear that Tami wasn't pleased with her performance, but I'm glad she kept her head up and did it anyway. Glad to hear that you got to meet Kim and Kira at the show. I need to look into maybe going to this show in the future: sounds like a great time!!! Got any pics to share, by any chance??

Just stumbled across this thread. Great pics! I recognized Pam's name on the results, but didn't realize who she was until just now. She looks great! She was so cute last year at the Indy show. I never would've guessed her older than me, so I was surprised at the Master's win.
I loved your report of the show Kate. I've wondered what you've been up to lately... I kinda agree about there being not much support for our lifestyle around here, but maybe I'm just not looking in the right places. :o This site seems to be a gem, with quite a few of us Indiana folk around.
