What type of look will the judges will be looking for?
The soft, conditioned physique, or the hard, shredded physique?

Women's bodybuilding is dying. I read it right here on Sioux and read it at MD, too.
So, the winner will be whichever woman actually decides to show up for the contest since everyone else has quit.
I had the winner selected, but now have to change my mind.
I'll let ya know Friday evening...:p

Good question.
IMO I think the winners will have excellent proportion, symmetry, and separation between muscle groups. I don't expect to see a huge amount of vascularity or any striations on the winners.
Best example of this look is Britt Miller in 07..........

Great pick. I would have liked to have seen her as a LHW and not a middle this year.

It will be interesting to see how the judges vote. Some shows I swear they will go one way, then they surprise me/us. Feels like that moving target.
I, personally, would love to see a physique that others can look at and go.. NOW THAT IS BEAUTIFUL...... THAT is what I am aspiring to Create for myself as well.. THAT AMAZING look of Feminine Beauty... one that is Breath Taking... then know that the one chosen will continue to represent BB in the months and years to come... rather than fade away into the history books.

When you take a close look at Britt in these 07 pics you have to wonder why she would have even considered coming in this year as a MW considering that she was a VERY close 2nd in the LHW last year. I realize it's not an issue with Britt not competing this year, but I was left wondering why the weight class change.

Those rumors were bullshit, Joe.
You're 100% correct about her being an ideal LHW.

Great Example! I agree that BB should be hard and shreadded because we are bodybuilders and Figure comptetors should not be shreadded however lots of times female bb get so shreadded their faces look to lean and get that hollow look and using Britt as an example she still has that fullness in her face but unfortunately its just that some competitors can't help it their faces just get really lean.

the face being dry and hard is also a reflection of age. if you're only 24 there is still that soft 'baby-fat' look to a lot of girls, bodybuilding or figure. that's why judges even say that the girls winning figure are under 30...they don't look as hard, muscles are less mature and hard. on the other hand after years of training a woman's physique will look more symmetrical, fuller and more dense..CATCH 22!
now as for what the judges want .. i think they notice symmetry first, overall shape..then pull out the top contenders and then start noticing the 'weaknesses'. britt has beautiful shape so she has been a top placer even tho she is not 'fully developed' in all her muscles. her shape makes up for it (and presentation etc).
i hope they pick a balance...but i do hope that someone who is HARD AND SHREDDED will win, who also has beautiful shape! Bodybuilding is about muscle and conditioning after all...a combination of all elements must come together...
