Here is the message that has just been posted:

Dave, based on the results from the team u and bodybuilding. What is your professional opinion on what direction is the industry going in??? It is starting to get confusing on how to come into a show. dry, hard and ripped or not so dry, hard or ripped??? I am very happy i pay you to help me because there is NO WAY i do this on my own ever. thank you for taking the time to answer this question.

* For bodybuilding, the standards are still RIPPED is better. If you're not in condition, changes are you're not gonna do well. In the women's bbing, there really wasn't any standout competitors. Because of this, they had to choose between a fairly well-conditioned LEA ANN SCELFO and a terribly conditioned, Awesome shaped, CASSANDRA FLOYD. The judges went with symmetry and shape over conditioning. If LEA ANN had been just a little more ripped, she would have won. If CASSANDRA had been 5-8lbs lighter, no one would have touched her.

In the FIGURE category, I still don't think the judges have consistency in judging. Without naming names, I've seen patterns in certain judging panels over others. Figure has come down to picking your judging panel the way a lawyer picks a jury before starting a trial. *

I always thought the promoter told judges body type they (promoter) was looking for. And over time the judges knew this w/ out being told.
I have said it before:
Look at the previous years winners in many shows and you will see they pretty much all look the same form one year to the next.

I dont think the judging has anything to do w/ the promotors...its from the person over the judges...

How can this be...

WOW

I saw the pics and was like WoW...

Interesting!
But IN MY OPINION, we all know what time it is!!! We all know that at the end of the day, there is going to be inconsistencies and confusion! That's why I believe that you just have to DO YOU!!! Bust your ass...come in the best that you can and have some fun! If you know you've given it your all, then what more can you do?

I had one judge tell me that I was too soft in Chicago...that I needed to bring my arms up and have more definition in my legs. Just out of curiosity, I wanted to know what the judge would say after Team U. I was told (by the SAME judge) that I was too hard...I had too much separation in my delts and legs!!! I may have been a bit hard, but I'd rather be marked down for being too hard than too soft any day!!!

But I know I gave it my all for Team U. I was proud of myself and satisfied with my look. I thought I was at my best (to date). No matter how I placed or what the judges say, NO ONE can take that away from me.

Focus on being your best and forget the rest. Trying to figure this sh@! out will drive you crazy if you let it!!!

Happy Training!
