Promoters Chris Eaddy and Deb Williams put on a great show. I highly recommend if your in the Florida area go check it out as its a nice venue and they really do have a great turnout out each year.

Chris is a great friend of mine as he has helped me numerous times with prep. Chris is the one that got me into the bodybuilding again and helped me win the Excalibur in California in 03 so I could compete nationally.

Well while at a show you might as well get a shoot in showing off your competition color. Carol Medina and her husband Julio joined me for a shoot between prejudging and the evening show and here is a sample of her onstage and off results.
I believe her mother is mixed Chilean/Peruvian and her padre Colombian. Julio is a freakin Rican/Dominican.

Shane - So sorry I didn't get to say goodbye before we left. My mom and aunt were absolutely starving so after we took pics onstage with the overall winners they pretty much pulled me out of that place by my hair...they wanted FOOD! I did too, although I'm pretty sure you guys saw me sneak a little cake backstage! :x (I'm sooo going to diet hell for that!)

John - Soooo great talking to you this weekend. I'm sorry we weren't able to shoot on Saturday. You know how sick I was feeling after prejudging though...running a fever during a show = no bueno. Thank you so much for capturing so much of the weekend's excitement for me. Definitely one of the best days of my life, that's for sure. I know many of my fellow competitors agree with me - you REALLY are good at what you do!

Repetrope.com covered the Hurricane Typhoon Bay competition in video. I see the price list for their stripped out male bodybuilding evening show at http://repetrope.com/men/products/detail.asp?ProductID=30111 for $29;
and men's prejudging at http://repetrope.com/men/products/detail.asp?ProductID=32095 for $29; but don't see where the women's coverage of the show is available for purchase in the women's section at http://repetrope.com/women/index.asp. The last one showing is NPC Junior Nationals. And any coverage you find on the web would likely be bootleg as Repetrope had the exclusive on that great show and the Tampa Bay Classic. So I'm not sure how you can get Jenna's routine from that great show without emailing them a request for purchase.

Thank you sooooo very much! You have no idea how wonderful that makes me feel, especially right now since I'm at home sick! LOL. To have such great audience feedback truly means more than any trophy ever could, and I mean that. It makes me want to go into the gym and work THAT much harder to improve and better myself for next time!

As for when 'next time' will be...I still have to talk to Coach Julie about that. I really want to put on some muscle this off-season, that's for sure, and I really want to work on developing harder strength moves. The Europa that's coming to Orlando sounds EXTREMELY tempting, I'll tell you that much. Even if I need a little more time to develop some lagging body parts, I DEFINITELY want to go cheer Cat on!!! What about you? When will we be seeing YOU compete again?!

Def enjoy your offseason and put on that size. Julie seems to know her stuff so I'm sure you will be ready :) As far as my own competing, who really knows. There is a chance I will compete at the Europa in the NPC portion or I may wait until later in the year and compete at some of Deke or Tim's shows. I had a great time at Hurricane Bay and know that Tim puts on a great show so I am kind of leaning toward that one :)

Oh thats a good question... I'm sure I will pick a show somewhere mid off-season though that way I know when I need to start dieting but as for not just gonna enjoy eating and trying to gain some muscle ;)

Pretty sure I will stick with bb, but I won't say just yet that I will never do figure again either, THANK you for the compliments hun!

Yeah I need to build as well. Actually I was 109 at the beginning of last year, so I had quite a bit of building I had to do already! How long are you having your 'off-season' for? What did you end up eating after the show anyway?! All the places were closed by the time we got out of there (ughh!) so I had a couple more reese cups and then like 6 slices of pizza back at the hotel. Actually, 1 judge gave me a "2" in the one-piece, but luckily the high and low scores are dropped, so it did come out to be a perfect 20 =)

Hmmm lots of good questions in that one... I really don't know how long my off season is gonna be, it all depends on what show I decide on next season at this point I guess ;) But don't even wanna think about that just yet! Well we had the same problem as you after the show, we went to Chevy's for some mexican but they had just closed, so we popped in to TGI Fridays and had some yummy tasting water lol but cancelled our order as soon as we put it in as it didn't really sound good, and wound up at IHOP which I was okay with because it really hit the spot :eat:

Thanks for mentioning it, lol. I actually get a fair amount of heat within the industry for doing it at shows I'm the videographer for and there is some energy spent by others to prevent me from shooting at others shows for as one national operator puts it any video posted (especially my longer clips) undermines their profitability. I believe there has to be a balance where we media folks first and foremost want to benefit the athletes and sport and as it grows in exposure and popularity all boats can rise:)
All that aside, there are some terrific stories behind each and everyone of you athletes and I'm honored by having the opportunity to shine a bit more light on you guys.

Haha I wish! She and I are polar opposites though :-/ She is sort of against the idea of bodybuilding and fitness competitions in general. She doesn't think it's healthy, but she respects that I enjoy it. She also isn't as into working out like I am *shrugs*

As that's okay if we can't get routine footage because we could still get footage of competitors pumping up backstage right? And with these competitors, I think their stories are more important anyway (ie where they're stationed, etc). Oh yeah, and before I forget...that day I am doing a breast cancer walk in the early morning, but I can haul butt over to Tampa right after so I can still be there for some of prejudging is that cool? As Sioux wrote that is my understanding from several trusted NPC officials that she did indeed pass from an automobile accident, I believe in Dec. '06.
