Nice show, lots of depth, first time judging the USA (Im usually east coast or mid-west).
I thoroughly enjoyed the womens bodybuilding posedown, I liked the champion onstage will all of that charisma and personality (I dont know names, but if you were there, you know who I mean)..you go, girl!!! I dont smile much during judging(I try to be serious at the table), but she made me smile.. :)
couple key things come to mind from the weekend (and shows in general)...(and remember, these are just my thoughts, they do not represent the words of any other judge)
*practice walking before the competition
*practice quarter turns and model poses
*when you are asked to move onstage, please be courteous, go behind the other competitors rather then stepping in front of them (if possible)
*please, no more red lipstick on stage
*do not match your makeup to your suits
*do not match your earrings to your suits
*do not wear gigantic, dangly earrings
*do not wear necklaces
*do not put competition coloring products on your face, use MAC NW45 or something along those lines. Go to Macy's, explain to them what you need, and that your makeup needs to be dark as you will be wearing color.
*please, make sure you exfoliate and moisturize before using competition coloring products
*waive to everyone with the arm closest to the curtain, no armpit, please
*be thorough in what you are presenting to the stage;
**try not to get color on your suit
**even peachfuzz is seen under the stage lights, we're only like 10ft away from you, please shave everything
**spend the extra time to make sure your tan is even, I dont care if its even too light or too dark, just make sure its even
**if you wear oil on stage (youre not supposed to), please make sure its even
Ive finally ended my tour of shows every weekend since like the Bev Francis Atlantic States (early June), Im honestly just burned out for a bit, and will enjoy the weekend off :)
my next national show to judge will be Nationals in ATL, but fingers crossed, I will be at Team U in some capacity or another ;) ;)
