HECK YEAH!! I get moody for no reason at all. I think it's mostly because I don't have the energy to do the "normal" tasks like housecleaning, etc. So I get frustrated with a messy home and feel crappy that it's that way. My husband thinks I am over-reacting to the house being messy, but I just don't like it cluttered or messy, yet it's the last thing I feel like doing. LOL!!

I get somewhat bitchy, but more anti social where I don't want to be around or have anything to do with certain people. They just tend to bug the shit out of me, so its best to avoid them so I do not remove their head.

oh gosh, its so hard b/c i would prefer to ignore people and just crawl in a cave, but some people you cannot ignore so then you just have to grit your teeth and smile.

I don't know why things make me mad, but it seems these days everything does.....

When I get grumpy, it's time for "alone-time". Just some quiet time to clear out the negativity bombarding my brain.

p.s. Dogs and a great husband help A LOT!!! :p

Haha! I woke up in a foul mood for no reason and knew I had no reason when my husband questioned me, so I made up one and had a nasty spat with him before I left to do my morning cardio.
He was leaving for work shortly thereafter...I'm just grateful he didn't lock me out! I wouldn't want my bitchy self to come home either!! (Smiling)

When I am in a bad mood the only thing that makes it worse is when someone points it out or makes fun of it...

My fiance will tell the dogs "Leave Mommy alone, she is in a bad mood now" with some little girl, high pitched voice....
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! I just get up and leave the room... sometimes the house.

haha my fiance just did this the other night....we have a pomeranian who gets uber hyper when there's food around...and i'm digging into my oh so yummy turkey and broccoli and she's bouncing off the walls and Josh goes, "leave mommy alone Molly, she's pissy tonight"....and I seriously wanted to throw the plate at his head..... ahhhhhhhhhh:banghead: lol

I can relate with everybody here... while I was dieting, my twin sister couldn't stand me for one bit.. I'm always in a quiet/bitchy mood... And if someone ate from the food I made I turned into Mrs. Hyde... I don't think they are going to be able to handle another comp prep so soon... :)

Yep, that pretty much described my house when I was in prep! The first thing I did after my last show was a total massive clean!

And yes, I was a total crank sometimes!! I think Kevin was very grateful that we do not live together. Sobbing one minute & ready to rip off someone's head the next. That about cover it!

Whoa!..how come reading these posts brought me to tears?

My hubby is dieting too! He's doing a show the week before mine and we are doing the USA's together..Normally this is a good idea but when he bitches to me about how many thousands of grams of carbs our nutritionist is MAKING him have..how he feels bad he doesn't GET to do cardio..grrrrrrrrrr:banghead:

That and everybody watches every single little thing I put near my mouth..and just HAVE to say something.

It's impossible to take it out on anyone here b/c 1. my hubby is a competitor. and 2. my kids are too used to it...I get called on it in a heartbeat.

Best idea, like many of you, is to just disappear for a while. Or I'm telling someone to get the "F" off my back!

Oh ..I did almost get killed by some dumb girl when I was on my bike. She thought it would be a good idea to mess w/ me. Pulled her emergency brake, while we were on an incline approaching a bridge and caused me to drop my bike.

I hauled ass after her car and started punching the trunk..she managed to get away..I really wanted to get inside her car..but I'm sure it's for the best I didn't. ...I did file a police report though and can't WAIT to see her silly ass...bitch almost made me FLEX! lol

It is so nice to hear that other people go through the same stuff.

The other night I was riding home and in a bad mood, my fiance was driving and he made some comment about me not doing much around the house or something (honestly I stopped listening cause I was pissed) and then I thought about all of you and how you go through the same thing... now, I can't turn to him and say "but nobody else cleans their house", or "but everyone else is moddy too"... instead I just smiled a little on the inside knowing you are all out there going through this too and knowing I could come in here and vent! I love it here with you gals!!!!!!

Barry has come to expect that not much is going to happen around the house right now. It's really rather charming of him. :p

This morning I got up and said, "I'm going to clean the house from top to bottom!! I'm going to do laundry and put it all away!!! I'm going to go outdoors and do some yard work!! I'm going to CONQUER THE WORLD!!!"

...after my a.m. cardio, I then said to him, "I think I'm going to go take a nap".

He just smiled and said, "I figured you would do that.... Anyway housework is just way over-rated". :D

I am really happy I found this forum :D

I am moody too.... Mainly in days when I goes from the high carb intake to the lower...

I am trying not to bother my neighbourhood with my moods... But sometimes I would like to scream all that out of me!!

Right now I was prepared to go hard to comeback THIS year and when my coach told me I will not, in one moment I was down, with no reason why to continue...I took two and half days out now, only with cardio and some relaxation and I feel how I am prepared to continue again. I am really looking forward to Monday and next training now...:yippie:

And sometimes I simply have to take one week vacation from my job and really go somewhere else - to my parents house or to some other town, or just to some other gym for a while and focus only on training, food and regeneration.... and clear my head (off course this is the last possibility - as I have not so much vacation days during the year :) )

This thread came along at the perfect time. I am two weeks out.....this happens every time, I get to feeling like, 'hormonal', weepy, for no reason, but I think that I also am experiencing the lovely phenomenon of peri-menopause too........I'm 44. Pile it on!!!!
This weepy phase usually passes the day before the show, but, ugh, the days leading up to that I go through BOXES of kleenex!!!

As is diagnosed sometimes with bi-polar disease, "rapid cycling" seems to fit how my moods are lately. ha ha ha

I can be happy, happy, happy one moment and then want to tear the lips off of people's faces. When that occurs, I just retract for a bit and try to examine "what" the heck is bugging me. There is a lot of self-talk during prep and if anything, I have discovered a lot about myself the past several weeks and feel I have grown emotionally, spiritually and physically through this whole ordeal.

Of course, that is what I feel right at this moment. Just ask me in about 5 minutes and I may have a completely different answer. LOL :p

I'm like that too and I'm afraid my first born has picked up that habit. I've lost a couple of friends who were offended that I didn't talk much at 0500 in the morning while I'm trying to get an 1hour workout. Oh well, they can KMBBA for all I care.

I do the same thing....and totally agree...why do people feel like being chatty at 5 a.m.?? :banghead:

Ok, here's another thing...
I shop in bulk, as I'm sure everyone else here does too. I will buy 4, 5, 6, or more dozen eggs at a time....sometimes a meal for me consists of 10-12 egg whites. And it NEVER fails - every single time I am buying eggs in bulk like this I get a comment either from the check-out person or someone in the check-out line. "Wow are you going to eat all those eggs?" "Are those all for you?" "What are you going to do with all those eggs?" "What are you making with all those eggs?" "Boy you must love eggs!" "That's a lot of eggs!"

This seems to drive me insane!!! I could walk into the store in an awesome mood and then walk out with smoke coming out of my ears. I think it just amazes me that the population doesn't realize that egg whites are a source of protein. Also I hate having to explain myself for the reason I am buying all those eggs.

I really want to just look at the person and say something that they would not expect - like "I am going to make a GIANT cake and EAT THE WHOLE THING"... and then see what their response it. But instead I just smile and give a short response like "Oh, the egg whites are a great source of protein". ...and then they usually look at me like I am stupid cause they don't undserstand what protein is.

OK..........what I have to say next may not make some folks happy, but here goes...

For the most part, this past weekend at the Colorado State was a super positive experience. I would say 99% of the time it was GREAT! However, my mood changed after pre-judging and after the night show to where if you were to have asked me if I wanted to do another show, I would say "HELL NO!! THIS SUCKS!! I HATE IT".

I guess because I am basically an introverted person and need "alone-time", it's hard for me to deal with crowds for very long. It sucks the energy right out of me. What's harder for me is going from an engineering environment at work (which is where I am around nerdy, pretty darn quiet people) to a bodybuilding/figure/fitness environment where there can be, what I would consider, some narcissistic, "IT"S GREAT TO BE ME!" personalities. I know this can exist in every environment, but it seems much more prevalent (for obvious reasons) in BB/Figure/Fitness.

There were times this weekend where I was so turned-off by how cold people could be and how they could be so full of themselves. A couple of times I just wanted to scream to someone, "Shut the @%! up about yourself and stop being so conceited!!". Then there were times where I was hugging my team mates and was just filled with total joy and affection for them. This is all so new to me, this world of physical appearance analysis and sometimes over-the-top egos, and I am not sure how to handle it. It's certainly MY problem and no one else's. It's like I don't fit in at work because I am much more outgoing than the usual engineer, yet I don't fit into the BB/Fitness/Figure world because I am not outgoing enough.

Anyway, it is quite the mixed bag of emotions. I suppose with time I will grow to know how to react and accept that no matter what walk of life we are from or where we are at presently, there are all kinds of different types of personalities to deal with, and that's all there is to it. It's my goal to be less sensitive to those folks who I may not see eye-to-eye on personality-wise and just let it roll off my back.

This is hilarious. Between Josh and I we go through tons of eggs- not to mention meat in general. My cart is full of buffalo, turkey, chicken, salmon, tilapia, and like ten cartons of eggs. Oh and the big containers of oatmeal I get. And I just get STARES. Like I have green things coming out of my head.

Somewhere there's a youtube of Markus Ruhl shopping with his wife and you should see how people look at him lol.

Reminds me of that NFL bust, Offensive tackle Tony Mandarich from Michigan State. Sports Illustrated did 2 features on him. In the first feature, they show him with 2 shopping carts full of food. If I remember correctly, it cost him like $400. A lot back then... :) He also used to train with Rory Leidermier -sp? And he used to date a female bodybuilder.

The video of Markus is too funny!! LMAO.

The STARES and LOOKS that people give me are crazy! It's even worse when I shop after the gym and have on a tank so that you can see that I workout - it's like people think it's weird and abnormal to be in shape.

Also, they look at me like I am out of place shopping for food. .....because this leads me to my other pet peeve - that people think that we "starve ourselves" preparing for a show and that we "hardly eat anything".

Okay so tonite i just felt like i wanted to scream and cry and bitch and moan...and I Did. Won't discuss why...but it felt good to get it out.

I couldnt believe tho how my mood changes when im dieting. Things begin to bother me that never did before... and it sucks.

anyone else?

Well last week I bit my boyfriend's head off and he has been so patient with me. I mean I acted like a complete fool threw a temper tantrum! It was a combination of my dieting and PMS....really bad behavior! My sweetie is a national level bodybuilder he has been SUPER I must say he has demonstrated patience to the 10th level with me. I owe him big time! I am not sure what it's going to be like when we both start training/dieting at the same time for our September show. Right now I am 4 weeks out he is 10 weeks out......arghhhhhh! I've been kind of  throughout my prep who am I kidding??? Just had it bad last week really really bad!

I try to be nice when i'm dieting but lately at work i'm ready to snap, since the following conversation has happened pretty much EVERY day:

"wow...renee...that REALLY stinks"
"well, i'm hungry and it tastes good"
"it stinks more than usual, what is it?"
"same thing as yesterday"
"well maybe you used different spices this time, cause it REALLY stinks!"
"nope, just salt & pepper"
"it really is the same thing?"
"yes"
"well why does it stink so bad?"
"i dunno, but i'm hungry and it tastes good"

Seriously i have this exact conversation EVERY day. It's really annoying because i AM hungry and i just want to eat my food in peace!! I dont' say her subway or micky d's or chinese food stinks (actually i'm liking the smell LMAO) but i hate it that everyone feels the need to comment on MY food.

That vid of Markus Rhul had me in stitches LMAO!!!

Anyway it's funny how people judge us and/or make comments at the grocery store line up, when THEIR carts or baskets are totally full of junk.

2) women don't eat duh. we are anorexics who look at cosmo all day and think of ways to cut calories and waif away..... ahahahahahahaha so a woman SHOPPING...and ACTUALLY BUYING FOOD????

I totally agree. I hate having to explain myself about what I am eating - especially when it is to the same people everyday and in regards to the same food everyday. Ugh! When I am carb depleted the last thing I have patience and energy for is explaining what/why I am eating what I'm eating....I JUST WANT TO EAT IT! LOL

I'm training two new people for work and they are sooo lucky that I'm in my off season. My patience and understanding takes a nosedive when I'm dieting. I try but I swear it's hard to answer the same question over and over again on a cutting diet and keep a smile on my face and not give the look.

This morning I snapped at the BF for no particular reason..I think I had PMS mixed in as well and he came home super late last night (even though I knew he was going to). So I think it was a combination of everything.

But yes, I HATE when people ask me what I eat, how much, etc. Augh...they just don't understand!

I had a major 'mood' swing with food this weekend. It was a tough one. I didn't want anyone to even ask me 'are you supposed to be eating that?' No, I'm not, but I'm gonna have it anyway. Then of course I felt totally guilty come Sunday night. But honestly, I feel totally revitalized and 100% better. Now back to the grind.

Surprisingly, the food helped my mood:)
