I haven't seen any talk about this show :o
National Qualifier @ Nutley H.S - Don't know much about it - I've done only one show in NJ & it wasn't a good Experience, ( will not say which one ) I was thinking of giving it another try. Anyone else doing this show?;)

I did it last year-- Good show-- wasnt too competitive last year, but local shows are always a crap shoot... ya never know who is going to show up!!!

I know 4 people doing it.. so it should be pretty big this year.. and I will be there to watch!!

LOL welcome to NJ! lol Most shows start later than planned....it sucks its just the way it is...so ALWAYS have your meals and some comfy clothes! :D

Oh- and what anne states is true there was a CHANGE in the PREJ time it IS now 11 AM.... NOt what is stated on the flyer.

Aw, hey beachgirl. Sorry to hear your first experience was bad and I can kinda guess which show that was. The Garden State Classics is a great show. I did that one back in 2004 and placed 5th. You'll be fine. Maybe call the promoter directly regarding the schedule so you have all the correct info. and have a stress free day! Good luck and keep us posted.

We, as officials met in April and thought it would be easier on the competitors (so they don't have to sit around all day) to come later and have the eve show start closer to pre judging.

Unfortunatley, not all of the committee members showed up to the meeting and we were over ruled and changes were made w/out notifiying everyone.

Call Pete, the promoter..find out for sure. The promoters have little say at all when things will start.

There are a large group of us trying really hard to make things right and get Jersey where it used to be (if not better).

I'm sorry for this and it's effecting us too.

...there can only be ONE head judge...:banghead: ..and it AIN'T me!

Co-Promoter Pete Diaz has also been super nice and supports the local bodybuilding and fitness scene. We have a girlfriend competing in figure for her first time as well.

A friend of mine, Carol Duran, I believe is competing in this Garden State competition tomorrow. I decorated her 1pc suit! I can't wait to see how she does!!! :D Hopefully we'll know the results on here soon after the finals! I'll be anxious!

ok, so I leave my house @ 8am. ( am in Queens ) got on the belt, no problem. onto the Van wow, no problem onto the whitestone a breeze. making great time, I'll be ther in time to do my makeup & Hair:angel:- why not i's not even :angel:9am & am going over the first bridge. ok so I make it to 95 goin to the GW.... OMG can we say traffic,, ok lets turn on 1010,, GW over 1 hr wait due to construction upper level CLOSED , only two lanes open on the lower :banghead:

Are these people kiddimg me - who the hell closed a main bridge ona saturday, Hello people I HAVE A SHOW TO DO. ok. so I try calling the number on the flyer, thats how a I got Petes Number , Called Pete, He said don't worry - nice guy.

ok so i have a convertable,, NOT WORK in traffic = i try the AC :banghead: its not blowing cold air - ok kill me now. as Pro tan is running down my chest & back..- so I strat to freak out,, I take my shorts off ,lmao.. ok so now am sitting in traffic in panties and tanktop in a convertable on the Cross Bronx Exp. ( It wasnt funny at the time - I really wanted to cry).

So @11am i make it to RT 20 ok am almost there ( my gfreind lives in NJ she was to meet me at the show). SHELLY,, guess what I get lost ,,lol omg,, how can I had missed my exit to Rt 21 - am like Phuck can I really be so Fed up.. back on the right highway.

make it to the school,, am dripping protan... my hair a mess no make up.. I check in.. Thank you Ladies - I walked in like a nut)

ok,,missy you have 20 min. to get ready,, go put on your suit - and be ready to go on you figure is first,, I asked WHY ??? lol..

I have my gfreind drying off my body am putting on make up - putting on my suit, trying to fix the tan,,( o'yeah my gfriend has never done the tan thing she has never done the back stage thing ,lol). The girls I met where awesome,, cheered my on,, don't worry u'll be fine, girls helping me with my tan. great great girls. make up came out nicer then if i had 1hr to do it,, tan was fine - Hair was a problem , I have curly hair and it was 100000 degrees in the place.. So hair wasnt working,, o well.. SOOOOOOOOOOOO at the end I placed 2nd place in Masters.. thats my B'day Gift to myself. I'll be 41 on Thursday.

I had a crazy start & a great ending & the best was I smiled & laughed the rest of the day. everyone working this show was great I felt at home everyone was very freindly. NJ SHOW ROCKED.. O"yeah the muffins.. and they supplied the gloves, oils, water some extra tan products ( i think it was 70 of us running around back stage) ok am going to shut up now.. just wanted to share my Great Day @ The Garden States... :respect:

Just thought I'd mention one of the happiest moments of the day for me.

Darin gave me a really sweet suprise and he switched his posing music from the mix he had made for the USA's to our special song.

There's a line in the song we always say to each other:

Yes Playa is right I was at the beach yesterday ( Sunday). it felt so good, I LOVE the BEACH. Thn I went over to Coyte Grill in Island Park for little Cheat Meal - I was very Disappointed :( I ordered Lobster Payella & the rice wasnt cooked... it looked like soup.

Yes Playa is right I was at the beach yesterday ( Sunday). it felt so good, I LOVE the BEACH. Thn I went over to Coyte Grill in Island Park for little Cheat Meal - I was very Disappointed :( I ordered Lobster Payella & the rice wasnt cooked... it looked like soup.

The girls I met where awesome,, cheered my on,, don't worry u'll be fine, girls helping me with my tan. great great girls. make up came out nicer then if i had 1hr to do it,, tan was fine - Hair was a problem , I have curly hair and it was 100000 degrees in the place.. So hair wasnt working,, o well.. SOOOOOOOOOOOO at the end I placed 2nd place in Masters.. thats my B'day Gift to myself. I'll be 41 on Thursday.

I had a crazy start & a great ending & the best was I smiled & laughed the rest of the day. everyone working this show was great I felt at home everyone was very freindly. NJ SHOW ROCKED.. O"yeah the muffins.. and they supplied the gloves, oils, water some extra tan products ( i think it was 70 of us running around back stage) ok am going to shut up now.. just wanted to share my Great Day @ The Garden States... :respect:

Chica I can't cheat even if I wanted to, the Lobster was soooooooooo good , i used my hands & teeth - I looked like Un Animal eating - yes i was on the beach til the Sun went down. I tried having a adult drink...:awesome:, wasn't to cool with it My belly didnt want it. :angel:
