I'm feeling great! The nervous feelings of not being ready are setting in. Anxiety, don't you just love it?
I'm ready to get this party started!

I bet you are looking amazing!
Do you have trouble sleeping the last week?
You know I really think one or more of our members will turn pro in two weeks. That is my prediction.

hey y'all. i'm feeling great about my conditioning. i hope everyone feels good about their progress as well. its been a long road for many of us and all we can do is pray (or hope) that our hard work and dedication will help us achieve whatever it is we are aiming for. as for me that goal is to one show get my pro card, but until then i'm gonna train and diet my a$$ off. working on those finishing touches with presentation and poise. honestly though i'm just looking forward to my steak and cold water afterwards!

Hello all!
New to this forum and will be competing at Jr. Nat's in 2 weeks as well. The
"2 week" out date always terrifies me because I ALWAYS feel I need more time. Every show I feel this way and so I beat myself up mentally for a good day or so, BUT the good news is I had a posing session with Gary Udit today (he helped me before Nationals and the N. Americans last year) and he is happy with the work I did during my off season and pleased with how I looked today, so that's a plus. I will sleep better tonight! I'm looking forward to being a member of this community and am anxious to meet some cool figure gals to hang with in Chicago. Good luck to all!

Holly I just checked out your pics from past contests. Very impressive! Welcome to our home here! :waving: Over 35 women here (that I am aware of ) have plans to compete in Chicago. Many are lurkers (come on out of lurkdom *wink, wink*). :)
On one hand I feel great and think that I will be ready to rock...but then on the other hand I am starting to get anxiety and have nervous feelings. No matter how ready I am, I always feel like I am not ready. I am sure I will have a few sleepless nights in the next 2 weeks wondering if I am too "soft" or too "hard". I am glad to hear that I am not the only one who is starting to get the jitters.
All the competitors have been training and dieting so intensely and I wish everyone GOOD LUCK! :D
Sioux, thank you for this forum as it has been such an awesome support network and a great way to unite us all!!! Many new and lasting friendships have been made because of you and the other moderators on this board! :awesome:

Hi Jen,
I just saw you in last month's MD. That was very cool! :respect:
Thanks Jen! We have a great community, and over 200 female competitors (many have yet to post) are members here. Watching many here make lasting friendships is my award! :)

I know EXACTLY how you are feeling. This sport leaves us all hanging on the edge of our seat! I never worry about being too hard (except my legs) because I always feel I need more conditioning, but either way, it's a tough situation to be in. I have a friend who competes and doesn't have to do very much cardio because she gets way too hard. I on the other hand did close to 11 hours this past week!! It's all about who can bring that complete package that day....I wish you the best of luck! Try not to worry too much, stress, and cortisone are an awful combination.
Happy Sunday,
Holly

Ah man... you had to bust out my age so soon!!! Just joking, thank you for the nice words and I'm actually very proud to be over 35! I have two kids who are 8 and 3 and most of the "PTO" moms freak out when they hear how old I am! I love your site and am excited to be apart of this community.
Happy Sunday,

You should be proud of your accomplishments, the best is yet to come.

Holly,
Welcome to the forum! It makes me feel better that you are feeling the same way I am. All this anticipation...I am just ready to get the show on the road! LOL. Your friend is lucky - not having to do much cardio. But I can sympathize with you - I have been doing 2 hrs. of cardio a day for about the past 10 weeks! Thank goodness I will be decreasing that in the next week.
Good Luck to you! I will be in D class - what class will you be in? We will have to meet up!
Keep on training,
Jen

You know when you add up all the hours of cardio for a week it's a bit shocking. I believe Jennifer Cowan was doing nearly 20 hours a week for the Jr USAs. My feet get sore just walking for an hour lol :spit:, I don't know how you competitors do it! :respect:

Mothers who compete are even more impressive. What a great role model for your children. :)

I am pleased to see we have many fitness competitors to root for at this show. :awesome:

It has been 90 degrees here in Pittsburgh for about the past week! I am soooo tired of it. :puke: Not to mention that it is zapping my energy...and I don't feel like eating as much.
Anyone else having this same problem???

YES YES YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I run my fitness routine in a warehouse that has NO A/C.....just a big bay door that I can open up for ventilation, and a couple of puny little box fans. I haven't trained routine under those conditions in a long time, but last time I did it, that routine felt easy under the stage lights.
Jen, when's the wedding? Haven't met you but know your adorable fiance. If you see me backstage, please stop and say 'hi', and I will try to do the same!

Sandi,
Wow! I could not imagine having to do a fitness routine under such hot/humid conditions. You are amazing!
You know Victor?? :) That is awesome! I will definitely say "hi" to you at Jrs....and he will be there too so we will both say "hi" :waving:
We haven't started wedding planning yet.... Right now Victor is still living in New York until Aug. 1. He will have been there for the past year doing a Foot & Ankle Fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery. I am still living here in Pittsburgh....I am working on my Master's degree so since his fellowship was only for a year we decided to suck it up and have a long distance relationship for a year. It's been tough communting between Pittsburgh and New York for both of us. He signed a contract to start working at UPMC in August. So once he gets back to Pittsburgh and we get settled our lives will be much more normal so we can start the planning.
Keep training hard, girl! We can't let this weather stop us!!! :tr:
GOOD LUCK!!!!! See you soon!
