Two weeks out from the 2008 Ms Figure International.

Flex Online:

It's been a while, but we figured it was time to start showing the women a little love - not that kind of love - by beginning to run more training articles featuring your favorite fitness and figure pros. First up, fast-rising Gina Aliotti. When we shot Gina on Sunday, February 16, she was two days under two weeks out from the Figure International on Friday, February 29.

Now entering her third year as a pro, the 23-year-old Aliotti has been on a tear recently, as evidenced by her runner-up finish at the 2007 Olympia. The Olympia placing came just weeks after her win at the Tournament of Champions Pro Figure, which was the third pro win of her young career. Aliotti finished sixth at the 2007 Figure International, and is one of the early favorites to take home the title next weekend.

Look for Gina's article in the June issue of FLEX.

Gina's going to bring a strong package to the Arnold, her improvements year to year just show her level of commitment to being the best she can be.

By the way, the first sentence cracked me up in that article. It's been more than overdue for figure/fitness coverage from Flex and while they're at it, time to show the FBB's some love to.

I like how she's put together, but with these new standards coming into play will she be considered to muscular? Either way she looks yummy! :D

I don't think that there are really new standards - the people with the best packages tend to win regardless of their level of muscle. That's why you see all kinds of physiques in the top five ... and you'll see us pick and support more muscular *and* less muscular physiques, even for the same show.

I think the sandals thing is just cause they're getting her in poses performing different excercises, like they'll be shooting from the waist up perhaps, don't think she actually wears them working out. But if she does more power to Gina, that may be the new workout secret for 2008...lol.

I tend to agree. Every competitor needs to bring the best package to stage in regards to their body. Some women carry muscle better then others. I'm anxious to see how Gina does, I'm not a huge fan of hers although I like her physique. i'm still bummed Amanda Savell did not get an invite!

If Gina Aliotti does NOT win this show, is that similar to the New England Patriots losing in the Super Bowl? Going into this show, I don't see anyone that could even give her a run for her money now that Val is out.

You have to see everyone in a line up first because making a final judgment. lol. That is just the judge in me. ;)

THANK...YOU! :respect: Trust me, I have a good feeling a lot of competitors know for a fact that Gina is a major froutrunner in taking the title (one of them told me herself that she's aware of the talk.) To answer your question, HD, her losing on Friday will be like the Pats losing this year's Super Bowl. In fact, I'll give you all another example that's closer to home for me: The Memphis Tigers. They were the top college basketball team in the nations, with no losses and the nation's longest home winning streak...until last night. The Vols beat the Tigers and not only handed them their first loss and broke a few streaks along the way, but the Tigers are more than likely gonna lose their top ranking to the Vols...and March Maddness and the NCAA Tournament are only days away, where the rankings count the most.

Long story short, guarantees are never a good thing, especially these days and in this spectator sport where anything can and will happen. I've learned the hard way to never assume anything. U know what happens when you assume something?

eh the whole world is political...sadly enough that includes the IFBB as well.
