I commented about this in another thread, but thought I'd mention it again here. After a break of several years, the great icon of female bodybuilding is promoting another show.

http://www.lendamurraybodybuilding.com/

Chrysler Hall is a nice venue, Lenda and her husband Urel work hard to put on a good event. Tickets and the host hotel look like a good value. It seems to be the only Virginia show on the NPC schedule.

I'll be there :badger:

It's going to be an awesome show! Lenda Murray rocks...can't wait to meet her, and Gustavo Badell is my fave male bb...can't wait to meet him too!

2 guys from my gym will be competing.

Anyone else planning on going to or competing in this show??

Hi Marilynny! :waving: Have you started prep for this show? How is it going? :)

I started April 28 and it's going really well. I'm just under 8 weeks out from the NGA Potomac Cup and I'm looking right on schedule, if not a little ahead. I'll have 3 weeks to recover and dial it in for Lenda Murray after that show. This is my best prep ever.

That's MY backyard.

I think some people from my gym will be competing in it, and from what I hear, it's a pretty big show for NGA.

I'll cheer for you! Good luck! :awesome:

There's a couple other shows in our area coming up, too:

This Sat., the 7th there is an INBF show in Arlington

The following Sat, the 14th is NPC Natural East Coast (NYCStrongFox is competing) at University of DC

I'll be at both. :Badger3:

I'll be at the Arlington show Saturday! Mary Bell is my posing coach. I owe her BIG TIME, even at my first show my presentation was dead on. She's brilliant.

Y'all are going to love the Potomac Cup show. My wife won that show in 2002. Dave Spindel puts on an incredible show - extremely well run and organized, and the athletes are treated great.

It looks like none of the members here attended the show, but I might as well post a few pics. This is the first time these are seen anywhere.

There were only three FBBs, here is the overall winner with Lenda:

There were a few more figure competitors, this is the overall winner:

The heavyweight FBB class winner, with local pro Mercedes Bazemore:

Instead of doing quarter turns, the figure competitors did "freestyle posing routines" and a few included a little flexing.

You can see a few more more on my PhotoBucket page:

As always, Lenda and Urel worked hard to put on a good show. I think they had over 70 registrants but 41 showed up to compete. Though they don't live in the area anymore, they are committed to promote it annually.

THanks for sharing those, Tom.
I really wanted to make it to this show, but traveling when you're two weeks out from a show isn't easy. :o
Did you get to meet Lenda?

Did you get to meet Lenda?Sorry you couldn't make it. Yes, I got to talk to Lenda a little and she is always very nice, but of course she was busy with the show.

We all want to put Lenda on a pedestal because, well, she's LENDA. Since I met her a few years ago I've found her very approachable by fans and supportive of competitors at all levels. She will probably be around at the Olympia, don't be afraid to say hello or ask for a photo.

I might as well post a few more pics. Here is the male overall winner:

The guest poser:

There were two (very underused) girls with powerful builds helping give out trophies:
