I love Jan Tana, thats what I use...for shine, try Bannana Boat Tanning oil with the yellow cap, it works great and smells even better! ;)

Oh nice recommendation on that one, I have used that for outdoor tanning but hadn't even thought about it for my shows :)

Do ya'll like the Jan Tana color? I like the Pro tan color with Dream Tan on top, but the DT is so messy. The Pro tan looks bad when you start trying to get it off after comp. I've heard Jan Tana application is easier & fades better, but I was wondering if the color looked as good.

Jan Tana with her own Glaze on top. I have the set with the scrub, moisturizer, color, glaze and (don't be jealous) airbrush. I LOVE it!

I've used ProTan, Dream Tan, and Jan Tana. Overall, I like the color of the Jan Tana the best.

However, I used the lotion-type Jan Tana mainly. I had a coat of the 'foam' Jan Tana done once that came out really well (the kind that comes in a little pump with a soft round sponge).

ProTan I've always loved, pretty much because that's the one thing I've used the most. But I HATE how long it takes to come off. And it's such a touchy product when it comes to streaking or how long you can have a bottle before it turns green. Heck, I've even had some friends that have bought brand new bottles that were green right off the bat! :banghead:

As far as sheen goes, I've done the Pam thing, and it's ok. If you do it, be sure to mist it on (don't spray really close to your skin... and especially don't get it near your hair!!), and once it's on, use a dark towel and blot it out. DON'T rub it! It will take your tan off like there's no tomorrow!

agreed! i have had so many issues with my color and jan tana has been the best...whenever you can do airbrush, do it. the glaze works really well for sheen, just a little goes a long way!

AGREED! I use the entire Jan Tana set- they have their own glaze which works wonders...and it gives you a "hardened look" under lights. I did buy Muscle Juice (competition posing oil) for touchups and in case I needed it....so I'd recommend that. Dream Tan I think is nasty...and why mess with pro tan when Jan Tana is better ?:o

For my last two compeititons I did a mixture of the two. I did a few coats of the Protan and then followed up with Jan Tana. I like the overall color better and my skin appeared smoother.

There were a couple of girls at masters nationals that were using the one mentioned above made by Tammy.....They swore by it and it was soooo easy for them to apply to their body all by themselves. I may be looking into that for this year. I thought the color looked fabulous on them.

Last year I bought this mini-sized self tan sprayer at Sephora and it worked AWESOME! I threw the Jan Tana in there and I only had to do one coat.

Like Vanessa (who was kind enough to lend me her machine for my first show :D), I also had the whole kit and used the Jan Tana glaze.

I'll post the link for the Sephora product for everyone.

no, I used the Jan Tana. It is SO EASY to use. You guys should def invest in one, it would be worth it esp. since so many of you need competition color (Bets, Shell, Nick, Josh, Rod, Chris, Dana...)

I've had some clients use that last year and I did not care for it too much. It gave out a "red tinge" . Kind of like a sun burnt look. Didn't look good with the bright lights. But that is all that we have here as far as spray on....:(

No prob girls!

Vaness - it has a rechargeable battery, you plug the cord into the bottom to charge it, then disconnect the cord to use (it's wireless).

It's very easy to travel with, you can toss it in your carry-on if needed

Jan Tana is the only product I've ever used that doesn't end up looking gross, peeled, craked etc. and I too use the whole kit the shine stuff is awesome... I am having some serious AIRBRUSH envy though that seems AWESOME... I got sprayed with Jan Tana and it was awesome!
