I got a room booked at the host hotel and today I also booked one at the Embassy Suites. They are located directly across the street. There is a skywalk that you can take that goes directly into the Hyatt...FYI.

The host hotel doesn't have microwaves which is doalbe I suppose. But after I called today they wanna charge $25 for a micro fridge, and they can't guarantee there will be enough. Screw that. Why do they always choose host hotels for competitors knowing we need at least a micro fridge :banghead:.

Also I had an idea about overnighting my food that I will be on dry ice. Has anyone ever done that?? That way I only have to travel with Thursday food and when I arrive my food will be nice and cold waiting for me.

Can't say I've ever overnighted my food. I've always brought mine with me.

EVERYTHING... stars are not enough for me lol and it great prices! And I HUNT lol the packages as far as air and hotel are a lot cheaper, I'm not sure for just hotel.

Yeah, I found out about the skywalk too. I'm staying at the Sofitel, right across the street from the Embassy Suites. It's connected to that skybridge as well: a VERY nice feature, especially if the weather turns foul.

Aren't those travel planning sites like Expedia nice?? Personally, I like Hotels.com. They've always come through for me when it comes to getting a hotel, the website is so easy to use, and you really can get a great deal!! So I hear ya when it comes to using the internet to plan out your traveling: highly recommended!!

I've overnight shipped my food before and as long as you put "perishable" on the box, let them know it's coming and they will put it in their resturaunt frig till you get there. That's my plan again for Chicago.

I don't know if you've ever tried Sidestep.com but it's a search engine that searches through Allthe sites for you to find the best deals. It will even tell you the best prices on Expedia, Orbitz, Priceline, etc, etc.
I love it!

THANKS for the tip ;) and I never heard of that shipping your food thing that is amazing... okay even when we go on vacation up north for a week we shop here at Bj's and then put the stuff in a cooler because if you shop CLOSE to any vacation spot the price jumps up RIDICULOUS!

Weirdest thing about expedia... the price literally changes by the minute!!!! from the time I typed in my information and refreshed it jumped up $63 dollars I was bummed but too damn scared not to hit accept LOL because I thought if I sneeze thats more money haha

Yes priceline is GREAT. BUT the only downfall to doing that when you compete is you just don't know if the room you will get has a microfridge or microwave. I really prefer to stay at places like Residence inn that have FULL kitchens. We stayed there in SC & it was the BOMB!!!!!!

Cool maybe we'll see each other wondering around. Yeah I think I'm gonna ship my food up this year.

It looks like we have a couple of extra rooms available at the $157 rate, for three nights Thursday to Sunday. Canceleable until the day before arrival ... if interested let us know.

The host hotel is nice and it is very convenient as everything is held there. There are some other hotels within walking distance. The only thing about the host hotel was the food was EXPENSIVE and not much nearby. Most of you will be eating your chicken, steak, yams, etc. however for your family it might be wise for them to pack a little something too or make a run to a store for the weekend as it adds up.

See everyone next week!

:awesome:

We are spectating too & staying at the Sofitel which is within walking distance. The room was only $125 a night, I think. Crown Plaza was also pretty close with around the same rate.
