I too was wondering where everyone was! We have the Sandra Wickham fall classic this saturday in BC and it is always a good show and is the last one of the season here! I'm excited to see everyone on stage.
I am tossing around the idea of the Arnolds or Nats in April......they are both pretty close so I better get my tush in gear! If I don't feel ready then definitely be hitting Nats in Saskatoon in July! I like the idea of competing early this year and perhaps enjoying some summer holidays with the family. I have been dieting over summer for the past 4 years so it'll be nice to kick back and not worry about dieting for a show!

I'm always around..... and missing the canadian updates!!!!
I will be at the SWFC this weekend with 10 of my team members - 5 bikini and 5 figure - super excited to cheer them all on.
Then getting ready to start on season soon with three gals hitting up the Canadian Naturals in April - drug tested national show. 1 bikini, 1 figure and 1fitness gal.
that's great that you are thinking about the arnold michelle - I loved the arnold!!! what a fun show!!!! so well run!!! very exciting!!! What nats show are you thinking about in April - Naturals? Did they open it up to allow anyone to do it now or did you do kelowna a few years back?
2011 should be a great year of competitions - Kelowna in May, and another busy summer with bc provincials and nationals!!!
So even though I am not hitting the stage --- proud to cheer on lots of new names, and many other up and coming talent!
Go canada go!!
PS - sad to see that we won't be getting the new Women's or men's physique rounds till 2012!!!! Since NPC is getting it in 2011.... canada is always the last to get new things!

You know, I don't think it is confirmed but it is posted on the ABBA website. However, there's been nothing official from the CBBF so it's entirely possible that what's on the ABBA website is a mistake, especially if that is the day for the BC Provincials.
We'll know soon enough but it's truly strange that there hasn't been anything official yet...

my bad.... I just realized provincials is the weekend before - july 16th.... then nationals on the 23rd (not comfirmed officially - but pretty certain you are right).
Kinda nice to have the two back to back like that --- although makes for one busy july!!!
Looking forward to meeting you in person there Crystol!!!! Happy Preppin!:waving:

that would be so great Kristine --- since it looks like Nationals are in your neck of the woods!!!! Conveinent and much more affordable!!! (and if we all show up on your door step to crash on your couch, it's okay, right? hee hee)
:waving:
Hehe :)
But yes I am SOOOO excited that it is so close by! My boyfriend's sister just bought a house in Saskatoon, so it will be super affordable!!

March 19.. Mabba Novice BB
April 23 National Naturals Fitness (maybe)
June 4 MAbba provincials BB
I had talked to a mabba rep who told me that If I switch to BB, I have to compete under MABBA as a BB the whole year.. I can't switch back and forth between fitness and bb. If I can do fitness at Naturals, I can compete there.. I dont think I can hold conditioning properly with the length of time between shows... but it would be easy to get from Novice to fitness condit by april 23...
ill see.. first i have to get to Novice and decide which I like more lol

wow - that west coast trail sounds intense!!! I just love it when there are other things people train for besides physique only comps!!!
The reward you will get from finishing that will be amazing!!!! Such a feat!
Good luck with your prep!!!! Keep us posted on your training! I would love to see a thread on here under the canadian section with your day to day prep!! MOTIVATING!

Good for you! I did the West Coast trail...I went with 2 other friends, one of which was born with only 1 1/2 arms (her one arm was shorter and with an undeveloped hand). She was an AWESOME athlete.
We did the whole run in 3.5 days and finished with bleeding, cut up toes, we had to cut off the toe of our boots to finish the last day, our feet were all swollen LOL. For some reason we felt competitive and wanted to see just how FAST we could do it. Trying to break someone's record I think LOL. Silly! Finished up the experience sitting in a little bar at the end of the whole thing, beer in hand, never tasted better (and I never drink beer).
Sad thing is, I have no photos of it and have lost contact with the two people I did it with. I'm left with a vague memory of a very cool experience, some very sore feet, damp clothing and best was a sip of a tiny bottle of wine we had the second night, camped out on the beach and watching the sun set on a complete and total wilderness.

Any chance you would ever do it again Zoa? (and I'm not asking cause I want to do it with you -- but would cheer you on from the finish!)

Working with Scott Abel... Right now I'm on a cross training program.. This will probably switch up in Jan to be more sport specific. Using that weight vest ...lol
I figure carrying the weight will be the biggest issue on this one...
This is one fo the trails I would like to do next summer but I would also like to do some elevation hikes/scrambles... :)
I figure the better prepared I am , the more enjoyable the trip will be

I would HIGHLY recommend taking your time and enjoying the view more, very good plan! Seems I've done a lot of rushing through things in my 'athletic' adventures and in some ways, sure would like to go back and do it again, but take my time. I was doing a lot of downhill country mountain biking and road racing, running then so I think I just had racing inbred in me LOL). Anyway, I think you have a great attitude! Make sure you take lots of pics too (just make sure your camera is in a waterproof case!
And of course keep us posted with your progress!

I would love to do it again. This time a decade later and with a different life experience. And forget you cheering! We need to get a group of girls together and get it down in style! NOW THAT WOULD BE A BLAST!!! Forget the booze cruise, let's do the West Coast Trail!

I walk 1.5 miles once or twice a day with a 50 pound weight vest. It's a great way to burn fat, and keep lower body muscle while in a calorie deficit IMO. My traps hate me for it though. lol

Sounds like everybody has a plan for the new year...I'm a bit torn at the moment. I'd like to do NA's next year, but that would mean going back and doing Provincials again.
The other option I'm toying with is doing WBFF in April (Quebec).
Have to make a decision soon.....

The Toronto Pro will return next year and if the rumors are true, for the first time in a long time it will have FBB.
Sadly, I will not be returning to produce show coverage in Ontario though the door is always open for commissions or work muscle media related. I am looking at a couple muscle projects that's different.

Hey Theresa,
Awesome hike! You are in for a real treat! 7 days is ideal, you are a smart cookie for doing that. Walbran Creek was our favorite spot of all, wish we cold of spent 2 or 3 nights there, but of course it's probably changed as it does every winter storm season. The beaches every year are a "choose your own adventure" from the previous season. It truly is a rugged, raw, pristine place! If you need any info or my take on some of the reservation/transportation stuff, feel free to PM me. We've done the WCT twice (South to North, and North to South)
Sorry that i am kinda hijacking this thread here............oh, and BTW, I'm Alicia, we met in July at the Workshop. I think our first meet up was Annie's Walk. Bah, that was a hot day!!!!!
