IFBB Pro Bodybuilder Vicki Nixon will return to the stage!

She'll be competing in IFBB Pro Figure at the IFBB New York Pro Figure. :awesome:

It is rare to see a pro bodybuilder compete in pro figure, but it does happen on occasion. I believe Carla Salotti was the first to do so, a few years ago at the IFBB Kentuckymuscle Pro Figure.

Vicki has been through a great deal these past few years, including recovering from an automobile accident.

I believe her last show was the 2007 IFBB Jan Tana Pro? I am not positive.

Cathy Lafrancois changed over from Pro Bodybuilding in 2004 or 2005 to Pro Figure. She had a dificult time training as a figure competitor and didn't do as well as she did at bodybuilding and so she went back to the bodybuilding side of the sport.

I'm excited to see how Vicki makes the transition into figure. It's a difficult choice as a fbb to make. Go kick some figure butt girl and welcome back to the Pro stage!

Hey everyone! I have been preparing for this since last Oct 1st! LONGGG Contest prep indeed! lol! But...I am very excited and happy with my transformation..I have worked VERY hard to make the changes needed. I just did a interview about this BIG NEW JOURNEY yesterday. After 25 yrs as a BBer it was not an easy move for me, but after my 2008 car accident it gave me a whole new look on life...I was already in pretty bad shape with multiple injuries for other incidents..but the car accident could have and should have taken me out, BUT it didnt..what it DID do was cause new injuries and new pain, the Positive is.. it has been my driving force back..I NEVER thought I could nor would compete again,as I am still under several Drs care...but I turned around yet another adversity life threw at me..I used the pain and the anger to motivate me, and I am so excited and blessed to be able to make my comeback with a New look and a New attitude. I look forward to meeting a whole new group of beautiful ladies!! I will be 50 yrs young in Sept and I am doing this for me, and to prove that no matter what happens in life, no matter how many times you get knocked down..where theres a will..theres a way!! Thank you SO much for the positve remarks and energy you have given me about my comeback!! :) Its SOO Good to be Back!!:awesome:

HB: In 2008 you were in a car accident. Can you share what happened and what injuries you sustained?

VN: On Dec 20th 2008 at 10:48am my husband and I were on our way (with a truck load of Christmas gifts, our 2 small dogs and 2 weeks worth of clothes) for a Christmas vacation. We were going to spend half our vacation in Hilton Head, SC with my parents and the other half in our Florida condo which is 3 hrs away from Hilton Head. Long story short, we had just gassed up and were getting back on I-95 South bound in Dunn, NC and as we went through an intersection a lady blew the red light and t-boned my side of the truck, I was the passenger. On impact the truck rolled several times and caught on fire because she was guessed to be going about 55 miles an hour. When the truck stopped I saw my hubby seemed to be ok and I was then in “save my dogs mode”. I climbed out and looked in the back seat where they had been and at that time I was screaming where’s the dogs?! My husband said that they were under his feet on the floor board of the drivers seat! That means they flew all over that truck as it rolled. One dog is 3lbs and the other is 6lbs and they are our babies, as we were unable to have children. In a nutshell I was in shock and didn’t even know how badly I was injured at the time. Since I saw the car coming I braced and the impact caused several herniated disks in my neck and back…with 25 torn labrums in my shoulders and terrible soft tissue damage throughout my body. Thank GOD we both had seats belts on! Both dogs were injured and had to be hospitalized, one for 5 days with a bruised liver and the other had a bruised sternum. I am still in therapy for my injuries but blessed to be here to tell about it and even MORE blessed to have muscle that saved my life the doctors say.

Yes back in 2008..what a way to start a 2 week Christmas..but by the grace of God we are here:) Muscle and seat belts and our High Power saved us that day.
