missing in action - canadian pros......???

I have been reading a lot of the other threads about missing fitness pros... and why the numbers have been small in fitness pro shows.... and it made me think.... WHERE ARE ALL OF OUR CANADIAN PROS???? Not just in fitness, but figure too??

We complain year after year about not having many pro cards given out --- yet I see very few canadian pros even on the pro stage?? Year after year 2 cards are usually given out (sometimes 3) and some of the girls never hit the pro stage after winning.

I know Debbie Leung just had twins (congrats!!!!!:awesome:), Jamie Senuk is off getting married this year.

We see Jeni B., Macey, Deanne Brown, Ceanna Kerr on the pro stage for figure.... kim tilden won last year and hit the stage this year at the arnold.

But for fitness.... we see Mindi, Myriam.... and then this year we got 2 new pros in Sylvia and Allison --- but where are the girls who won in 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005???

With the addition of pro cards being given out the Canadian Naturals this year - are we just giving them to girls who will never use them???

I just feel like we see the line ups from the pro shows and are lucky to see one canadian name up there...... where are all of our amazing canadian competitors ---- heck, you worked 10 times harder to get those cards than the usa competitors.... cause you only had that one opportunity (maybe 2) each year to win!!!!!

Is it because there are no pro shows in canada and the travel costs, etc are too much way down south to the pro shows???

on another note -- can't leave out our amazing women's BB competitors --- we see Zoa on stage already as a pro --- and Athena made her pro debut and is already planning for this year. We see these canadian women hit the stage..... Nadia Nardi..... they all usually hit a pro show each year.

2005 - ?? not sure - have to look up - debbie leung or did she win in 2004?

2006 - jamie senuk and serena cooper figure - jill st laurent as well
myriam capes fitness

2007 - marnie holly fitness
jeni briscoe and ceanna kerr figure

2008 - tamara vahn and chantel Dicarie
figure - deanne brown and macey boudreau
this year Natalie Waples won for figure at north americans.

2009 - fitness - sylvia and then north americans Allison ( we also had a girl win north americans figure - from ontario, can't remember her name)
figure - three - kim tilden, ginette d., and alisha hart

can't remember when sandra wickham won (haven't seen her in over a year - I know she is super busy) - mindi is still out there... we see her the most out of any canadian fitness pro.

I guess looking at the list above we have seen most of the figure gals hit the pro stage.... but have yet to see tamara, chantal, marnie for fitness.

jill??? serena?? did go to the pros, but weren't there long.

We see most of these girls at 1 pro show a year.... but I can understand the costs involved and how hard it must be to hit more than that.... yet we see a lot of the american pros hitting 3-4 shows a year --- some MORE!!!! They still have travel and expenses as well.... so I am wondering why our pros are not seen as much??

2003 - Janie Keith (fitness --- ??? not sure where she went to)
and Jennifer Thiel (figure) - I think she did 1 pro show.

2004 - Luci Bergeron(never saw her on pro stage??) (also got a pro card - debbie leung overall winner)

2005 - fitness winner was - Christina Mehling (she made a switch to figure once in the pros????)
tammy strome figure (I think she came back last year after long time off) - (nina Luchka went on to win north americans for figure - doesn't compete anymore

2006 - also for figure a pro card was awarded to Lisa Taylor (she never made it to the pro stage)

Jane Awad --- won somewhere in there for north americans - she was big on the scene --- but isn't competing this year????

I just see a ton of names on here that did one show then never came back, or never made it to the pro stage.

Oh wow, pass along my well wishes to her -- she is one of my favs for fitness - tall, long, lean - very pretty girl with amazing routines!!! I hope she is okay. Thanks for the update.

really nice to hear how all of my "canadian fitness idols" are doing. I watch these girls each year on stage at nationals win and love love love their routines, and physiques - nice to hear how and what they are up to.

I miss seeing Debbie on stage but I'm soooo happy for her & her twins!! I hope to see a comeback from her. She always had a dynamite package.

I haven't seen Jill St L in a long time either (since she went pro). I know Jamie Senuk is going to come back (YAY!!!). I loved Natalie Waples' look... I hope to see her in a pro show soon!

it seems like a lot of these ladies are busy with families --- congrats to all of them!!!!!

yes, we have such amazing talent that comes out of canada.... too bad the placings never favor them!!!! some of their physiques are AMAZING!!!!!! and I'd like to see them place higher!!!! (or hit the stage more to get their names out there more and showcase the amazing physiques we have up here!)

I competed with Serena last year at the Sacramento pro show and Im sure she did NY last year too.

Jill hasnt competed since the 2008 europa. She was a god send back stage. Totally helped me through my first pro show. Made it really comfortable and fun!!

Nina told me she was going to do bikini this year as well.

Sounds like alot of our pros are having families. It takes us so long to get the card, by the time we get it we are a bit older and its time to have babies. Not me, no worries! I'll be hitting the stage at least 2 times this year!

I agree, many must be burnt out by the time they finally get that darn card up here!!!! We need more shows and more cards darn it!!!!

And we need pro shows up here --- or at least Northern States - like seattle, oregon!!! We have so many pros in bc --- would be easy for the quick drive down, compared to trekking all the way down to texas and florida all the time!

Jaclyn --- I have heard of many girls competing for their pro cards at the Naturals in 2.5 weeks... fitness and figure... lots more girls heading out to this show now that they have the chance at a card. I have one client doing figure, she was supposed to do fitness, but injured herself quite badly, and had to make the switch as we was qualified for both. I think there are quite a few heading there from BC this year!!!! should be a great show. Good luck with your prep --- hopefully we see a big turnout this year!

Leigh is making her pro debut at MAXX muscle next weekend in Culver City ---- she looks AMAZING -- better than ever (her legs are the best legs I have ever seen!!!) (so excited for her!!!!) and she may also compete at the Europa on April 17th.... not confirmed yet. She is getting married this year --- we are all heading to vegas for her wedding, and it is 2 weeks after Europa..... so we will see.

I know we have more pro shows to come but as it stands right now there are NO Canadian pros yet qualified for the 2010 Figure Olympia and only one, amazing Myriam Capes, for fitness.

I hope to see our girls up there as the year progresses and that Leigh will represent for Bikini!!

I'm gonna bet money that we will see Jeni Briscoe at this years Olympia representing canada!!!! Go Jeni Go!!!

I also think we will see Kim Tilden there!

For fitness, I am not ruling out Sylvia or Allison --- I know they are hitting the New York show..... and I am sure we will see great things from them!!!
