Early am, mid afternoon, late afternoon, evening, late evening???
Is this a preferred time for you or do you train at this time to fit it into your daily schedule?

For me, it all depends on the day. Since I train with my hubby Cameron, I sort of have to go with what his schedule is. He works early mornings (1 am to 9-10 am or later on some days) so training all depends on what time he gets home because he does need to sleep a couple of hours.
On Mondays, he is off, so we train around 11 am-12'ish. We really like this time because we are home when the kids get home from school.
On other days, we will try to get in a afternoon workout, but some days Cam gets home late from work so we then train around 4-5 pm. Kind of late for us, but we gotta do what we gotta do.
I prefer to train earlier in the day because it is less crowded and alot less meatheads in the gym. ;)

Yes, it is difficult when you have kids. Wanting to be home for them at night. I'm with you on that one.
Hey, I want to hear that story about you forgetting your workout shoes. I laugh everytime you tell me that one. :LOLOL: What a true DIVA!

In a perfect world which I use to do when Bianca was little 11:00 am it worked out perfect! am cardio at 5:30 a few meals and chores and playtime then hit the gym for round 2 all the stay at home moms would go at that time and their were friends in the daycare... plus it was done and not hanging over my head and energy is great at that time of the day... NOW my boys are not as cooperative LOL at least not yet their schedule's a little different and we have to get B to school so if I want to do mornings it has to be earlier like 9:30 and its a little harder as I do the MAD DASH from 5am till that time to get out of the house, plus less meals before lifting... but I only do that a few mornings a week otherwise I go in the evening with hubby at like 4:30/5:00.

So, im close to the show, of course i'm already mental. I am rushing to the gym at lunch (as usual) since there are serious haters here.. (since i dont go eat pizza and cake everyday) So i'm running and i get to the gym, Shoulder day. I open my bag, and look, like DAMN!! why do i only have 1 tennis shoe? UGH! So of course you can not miss your workout and it wasnt leg day so what the heck! I threw on my tank top, left my jeans on and wore my stiletto books in the weight room, Oh i threw on my ball cap for added fun LOL
People were like no she isnt in the weight room doing DB presses with stilettos boots, tank top, ball cap, and jeans LOL
Gotta do what ya gotta do! LOL

I agree...but really Steph! You juggle so much and still make it to the TOP! My kids are older now so not as difficult. Cheynna is going to be 14 so we leave our kids at home. But for you....I know how difficult it is to pack up kids stuff and have to travel with them to the gym. Heck, I even remember that story that you forgot diapers ( lol ) and your son had a dirty one....you drove home, got the diaper and came back to the gym while Ern worked out? Then you worked out and he tooked the kids home? I think it went something like that.

Yes I have to say staying at home with the twins is the most rewarding and CHALLENGING thing I have ever done I honestly believe the gym is the best outlet! There are days I miss working though.

I go to bed around 11:30. If I get 6 solid hours sleep it is a miracle.
I don't know how you girls with kids do it, THAT is impressive!! :respect:
I do my cardio at 5 am at the latest during my offseason as well as during my prep. I don't get out of the routine because it's too hard to get back into it when prep starts. Then I go home get the boys off to work and school and hit work for the day. At night I am back for my weights.
So my answer morning and night. LOL

I hit the gym after I get home from work and change, which can be anytime between 7 and 8. I see Danielle there sometimes. ;)
Cardio is PWO offseason except leg day, none on off days, 20 minutes SS.
Inseason, 45 SS PWO, no morning cardio until the end. I'd rather manipulate calories than spend more time that I don't have burning them.

During contest prep, I do cardio before my first meal first thing in the morning, during lunchtime and after training in the evening (yeap three times a day extremely time consuming). I like your idea Vanessa.
Off season, right after work, followed by :30 minutes cardio. Usually around 7:30 p.m.
I went back last night to do a light leg workout and it was light indeed. I'm still letting my body heal from that intense prep. I've already gained 5 lbs. I doubt that I want to do a heavy bulk again this time around.
Victor Martinez was working out last night too, right alongside. That was cool...two competitors side by side. He's back in the trenches. Good for him. :awesome:
I'll be back next week...as for now...my mind is telling go back to the gym and my body is saying no don't go! :D

Cool seeing all the different times we all get to the gym with all the craziness in our "normal" day to day life.
Precontest & off-season: 5:15am lift followed by cardio #1, then cardio #2 anytime between 4:30 or 5:30 - depends if I leave work early. On weekends, 8am cardio #1, then cardio #2 around 2/3pm. If off-season, I usually have 1 cardio over the weekend (Sat @ 8am) and Sundays would be my rest day. I use to lift after work instead of the morning for years, but besides needing a change, I feel stronger and more "alive" touching the iron early :bench::showoff: Off season cardio is usually 5-6x AMs and 3-4x PMs :tr:.

I am a creature of habit so I go to sleep early and rise early. Get up, do cardio around 7:30am, then train and do more cardio again around 2:30 or 3:30ish.

Off-season: 3 x a week: 6 o'clock AM cardio, weights after work around 4 PM.
And the other 3x a week I do weights at 6 o'clock AM or 8 o'clock AM on weekends to get it out of the way.
On-seson: 6x a week 6 o'clock AM cardio, weights + 2nd cardio at 4 PM

Wow you girls do AM cardio offseason THAT"S impressive! You couldn't pay me LOL I hate it onseason too LOL I'm just NOT a morning person... next prep though I think I will start waking up am cardio time like 2 to three weeks BEFORE prep actually starts just because IT WAS SO HARD to get back into that groove after not having done it for MONTHS!

LOL! It's so hard in the beginning, like everything else. But, I love it more Spring - Fall. Once the winter hits, you need to drag me out of bed, but I still try to keep doing it. Once you stop, it's hard to get started up again.
